The adventure begins far above the clouds where you'll take in awe-inspiring views from the rim of Haleakala's massive volcanic crater. You will then be driven down to 6,500 feet where, after a safety orientation and bike/gear fitting, you're ready to roll-down the planet's grandest coaster-through over 200 twists and turns and countless visual wonders. A hot beverage and pastry will be offered to get the blood pumping before you begin your descent. There are many stops along the way to view and photograph the incredible scenery, and learn about Haleakala's history and lore, When you reach Kula, near the bottom, a stop will be made at a local restaurant where you can purchase a snack or a whole meal.

Haleakala National Park is an area of astounding diversity and beauty, covering over 30,000 acres of wilderness. It preserves the distinctive volcanic landscape of the summit area and protects the pristine Kipahulu Valley and scenic pools at Oheo Gulch. Haleakala is home to many of the world's 13 ecosystems including: alpine cinder desert, subalpine shrubland and grassland, montage bogs, dryland forest, high elevation cloudforest, low elevation rainforest and coastal.
Bikes used are genuine Worksman and Schwinn cruiser style bicycles, that are specially designed for safe and comfortable downhill biking. DOT approved helmets, gloves, wind-stopper fleece, Gortex rain suits are provided. Low temperature at the summit in the early morning can be in the 30s (Fahrenheit) so dress in layers.
