Taste of Dublin and Guinness with Private Transportation

On this half-day tour with private transportation, you will be picked up at the port in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and see the highlights of Ireland's capital city. Then you will be whisked away to the Guinness Storehouse, where you will enjoy the freedom to explore the storehouse on your own.

The history of Guinness, although not quite as old as the city's, dates back to the mid-1700s and certainly has been an influence on some of the city's history. At one point, 1 out of every 30 citizens worked for Guinness. In addition, the Guinness family was involved in housing and food programs, early employee benefits including medical treatment, the refurbishing of St Patricks Cathedral in 1860, donated a public park for the city (St Stephen's Green), so it would be hard to find many locals who have not been affected by the Guinness presence somehow.

Dublin City is the capital of the Republic of Ireland and sits on a splendid bay at the mouth of the River Liffey with the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains rising from its southern suburbs. It is internationally noted for its writers, Georgian architecture, witty natives, and the production of Guinness! Since its beginning as an ecclesiastical settlement it has over time been a key Viking raiding and trading base, a Norman stronghold, the second city of the British Empire and capital of an independent state.

A highlight of your tour is a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. This historical building is home to the Guinness Corporation and certainly a part of Dublin's history. During your approximately two hours at the storehouse, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the Guinness history, the brewing process, marketing and distribution of the product, and of course, a chance to sample in the Taste Experience. You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid ID to sample alcohol. Guests are not allowed in the actual brewing area of the building for health and safety reasons. There will also be a little free time to visit the Guinness Store.

Please Note: The visit to the Guinness Storehouse is self-guided. Audio guides are available. Private guides are not permitted in the storehouse.
