Valencia may be the birthplace of paella, but its thriving culinary scene offers much, much more! Sample and shop at bustling markets, small artisan shops and a famed restaurant. Pick up food and spices for purchase and bring the native flavors of Valencia back home to your kitchen.
Your small group tour begins at Mercado de Colon, a Gothic-styled covered market frequented by the locals. Sip on organic horchata, a traditional summer drink that is creamy and nutty. From there you will head to Mercado Central, the largest market in Europe with more than 400 vendors. Meander past stalls overflowing with fresh produce and arrive at the spice section where you will learn about the spices used to make authentic paella. Stop in the meat aisle to discover the difference between jamon iberico and serrano while you enjoy a jamon tasting.
From there you will head to a quaint, artisan chocolate shop where handcrafted bombones, Cubanitos and truffles await you. Once you've had your fill of chocolates you will stop to sample a locally produced olive oil. Your tour concludes with a tasting at one of the oldest and most popular restaurants in the area. Enter the 200 year old building and dine on mouthwatering tapas and wine, with the option of staying for a relaxing lunch.
Reserve your spot today and get ready to discover Valencia's sizzling food scene.

Fantastic Tour! We were apprehensive about this tour since it required a taxi ride . The info provided on our tickets made this easy. Once we met our guide, Lenny, the fun started. Not only did we get tours of the markets and lots of wonderful foods / drinks to sample, but we also got both foodie and cultural info along with stops for sight-seeing at great places. We had our son (8) with us and Lenny made sure that even he had an incredible time and had local flavors to drink (while adults tasted local wine). Lenny was awesome with the diverse age group. The tour size was small (7) which allowed her to tailor some pieces for the group. After the tour, she arranged taxis to get back. Most went directly to the ship, but on Lenny's advise, we stopped at the Science area on our way back. This "recommendation" only topped off an already wonderful day! I can't say enough about this trip. You won't be disappointed. It was the highlight of our trip.

We took the tour of Valencia and had high hopes but were unsure of how good it would be. We weren't disappointed! Great Tour and we would do it again in a moment. I can't say enough about our wonderful tour guide Lenny. We hit some spots we would have never seen on our own and enjoyed many delights both in the sights and food. I would recommend this tour to anyone and we enjoyed immensely.
