The Temples of Mumbai

See how devotees offer prayer to Gods in the temples of Mumbai. Your temple tour guide will introduce you to the rich Hindu culture, religious customs, traditions, and rituals, taking you on a blissful peaceful journey. The aura and energy at these temples is an experience you won't want to miss.

The tour begins with a drive to the Siddhivinayak Temple of Lord Ganesha, the most prayed to and loved god. He is also known as Ganesha, or the Elephant God, because he has the head of an elephant. He is the son of Lord Shiva and you will see many people worshipping him before starting any new business or taking on new work. He is known to make your life obstacle-free and make your work successful and your dreams come true. Afterwards, visit the famous Ganesha Temple, known for its miracles and cures.

Proceed to the Babulnath Temple of Lord Shiva. This ancient temple of Shiva, over 300 years old, sits on top of a hill. Learn about some of its mythical stories. Shiva, considered the God of Destruction, destroys the world when no other gods are able to do anything.

Continue to the Isckon Temple of Hare Rama Hare Krishna. Krishna is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the preserver. You will be amazed at the beauty of the temple you discover inside. This temple, built by an American Jewish person in Mumbai, was the founder of the ISCKON movement, Bhakti Vedanta Prabupada.

The tour concludes with insights into another religion. Observe the beautiful Jain Temple, of Lord Adeshwarji. This temple is named after the person who built the temple over a century ago. Return to your ship after an enriching experience and a profound knowledge of Mumbai, its people and its fascinating rituals, culture, and traditions.
