Private Berlin - Venice of the North
Private Berlin - Venice of the North
Depart the pier for the 2 hour drive to Berlin. Upon arrival, you will meet your local professional tour guide, who will show you many of the highlights of Berlin in a private full-day Berlin tour.
The first site of interest will be the Olympic Stadium, where Jesse Owens' four victories in the 1936 Olympic Games upset Adolf Hitler. You will then join a 1 hour canal boat cruise along the Spree River, showing Central Berlin from a different view. Highlights like the Reichstag, Germany's parliament building with its copula designed by Sir Norman Foster, will border your waterway. To top off your river cruise, see the Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island, with its world-class museums and galleries.
You will finish your cruise at the Nikolai Quarter, which is the city's oldest living quarter around St. Nicolas Church. Dating back to the 13th century, this neighborhood will inspire you during a short walk through this cradle of Berlin, once the spot where local scientists, writers, philosophers and architects such as Humboldt, Lessing, Schinkel and others lived and worked.
You will then drive to one of the most popular sites of Berlin: the world-famous Brandenburg Gate. You will also see Checkpoint Charlie, the East Side Gallery, and Charlottenburg Palace, the former residence of the royal family Hohenzollern.
You will then return to the ship, inspired by unforgettable impressions of Germany's capital.
