Calling all wine aficionados! The Marlborough region is home to some of New Zealand's most famous wines which has rocketed the popularity of our New World wineries. The area contains almost 80 percent of New Zealand's vineyards.
Your 5.5-hour tour begins with a picturesque ride to the Marlborough vineyards and a stop at the impressive Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre.
This museum, established in 1996, contains historic aircraft and memorabilia including WWI and WWII fighter planes. After admiring the lifelike exhibits you will continue to a vineyard restaurant to feast on regional seafood and other delicacies (at your own cost and time permitting).
Following lunch you will visit a variety of wineries, from the large corporations to the smaller family-run boutique labels.
Visit a barrel room with its French oak casks and learn about the wine-making process as you sip on the region's legendary Sauvignon Blanc and other varietals.
Complete your Marlborough journey with handcrafted gourmet chocolates at the chocolate factory before your return to Picton.
