Learn to Rock Climb

After checking in at the Hotel Alyeska, you will take a 10 minute walk to the crag. This creek side crag is nestled deep in the forest right under the tram cables. Here you will begin your 3 hour "top-roped" climbing experience. This environment is perfect for beginners and fun for the whole family!

Your guide will cover the basics of placement, technique, climbing, and equipment required for a beginning climb.

You will be free climbing a Class 5 (climbing on vertical or near vertical rock, and requires skill and a rope to proceed safely), and there are several routes between 5.6 and 5.12 in difficulty. Your guide will help you select the one best suited for you.

No previous climbing experience is necessary, and all gear is provided. Rock Climbing trips are great for families, and people of all abilities and ages. Technically experienced guides teach everyone from novices to advanced climbers.

All climbing gear and a snack will be provided. The tour operates in all weather conditions, at the discretion of the guide. Depending on weather, the climb may take place at another location that is similar.
