Alaska is one of the most awe-inspiring places on earth.

The largest state in the United States, Alaska is home to 17 of the 20 highest peaks in North America, more than 100,000 glaciers, 3 million lakes, 6,640 miles of coastline, 33,904 miles of shoreline, and more than 70 potentially active volcanoes. From Alaska's majestic beauty to its staggering array of wildlife, it is truly a unique destination.

Sailing on a cruise ship is just the beginning of any Alaskan Tour Adventure. The absolute magnificence and splendor of Alaska can only be fully realized by experiencing an Alaska shore excursion. Whether it's by air, land or sea, exploring the wonders of Alaska Tours and excursions will be a once in a lifetime experience.

At Shore Excursions Group, we offer an extensive selection of exceptional Alaska cruise excursions providing our customers with reasonably-priced opportunities to experience the best of Alaska. Alaska Cruise Excursions to Inspire

On one of our Juneau shore excursions, take a float trip on spectacular, glacier-studded Mendenhall Lake, passing by the world famous 2.5 mile-wide Mendenhall Glacier or experience a whale watching cruise and see a humpback whale up close. Other Juneau shore excursion trips include a city tour or gold panning adventure where you can relive Juneau's gold rush history by panning for gold and then enjoying a delicious salmon bake at Salmon Creek.

In Ketchikan the spectacular Misty Fjords Flight seeing Tour is a must-see experience that will provide a lifetime of memories. The Misty Fjords National Monument is a 2.3-million acre piece of pristine wilderness that must be viewed by floatplane; it is the only way to truly take in its majesty - soaring cliffs, saw-tooth ridges blanketed in trademark mists, sky-blue lakes, endless waterfalls, icy saltwater fjords and miles of glacier-carved gorges. As part of our Saxman Native Village and Ketchikan City tour visit the world's largest standing collection of totem poles and hear the legends and stories of how and why they were made.

In Skagway our Helicopter Dog Sledding Adventure day excursion begins with a helicopter ride to a glacier dog sledding camp where you will share this adventure with 80 Alaskan huskies and hear unique personal accounts of the Iditarod, back country experiences and have an opportunity to ask questions. Feel the excitement as the team is hooked up, then you're off! Also from Skagway we offer many Alaskan tours into the Yukon territories including horseback riding and dog mushing adventures. Or enjoy an exciting raft trip down the Chilkat River through the famous Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, the world's largest concentration of Bald Eagles in North America.

For our active customers we offer a variety of hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing and zip lining cruise ship excursions in most of our Alaskan ports. For our fishing enthusiasts, we have many options including salmon fishing, Halibut fishing, skiff crabbing, skiff fishing, fly fishing, or spin fishing. Our fishing shore excursions are offered in Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka.

"Awesome Alaska Experience!"

Helicopter Glacier Discovery

"This was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience for us. Yes its expensive, but so worth it to ride in a helicopter, land on a glacier, and experience a glacier up close as you walk on it. I felt really safe with our pilot and he was pretty knowledgeable about the area."

Ward Cove Sea Cycle Wildlife Tour

"This by far was my favorite excursion on our 7 day cruise to Alaska. Our guides Amber and Vicki are two of the most pleasant gals you will ever meet.Once we peddled into the middle of the cove while we waited for the others to mount their sea cycles,my blood pressure immediately dropped while we gently bobbed in the water, taking in the scenery...heck we were in the scenery. We even got to see an eagle pluck a salmon out of the water and take off into the trees. You won't regret spending a couple of hours of historical and fact filled commentary of the area, while having a little fun and exercise in the process and having a tasty snack in the end. Thank you Brent and Jake for your assistance."

Back Country Zodiac Adventure

"The guide is exceptional. The wildlife is unsurpassed. These 2 come together in perfection on this excursion. I highly recommend. I did this a year ago with my daughter and I loved it so much I came back! We are perhaps repeating a third next year with our son and grandkids!"

Juneau City and Mendenhall Glacier Tour

"The Juneau part of the trip is fun enough in that you get a quick overview ride around the city with enough time after the bus tour to prowl around the gift shops some. The more spectacular part, though, is the ride out to the Mendenhall Glacier. You can see plenty from the Visitor Center area if you want to spent more time there with the film, exhibits, etc. However, if you're up for a brisk walk, hike (flat ground) out to the waterfall although it will take you most of the 40 min. alloted during the stop there to get out to the falls and back (if you don't mind getting your lower legs wet you can also walk out into the water a bit for an even more spectacular view of the falls but if that's your goal head straight for the trail and don't even go in the Visitor Center so you'll have time to get back). Our driver was very conscientious, though, about accounting for everyone and not leaving until we were all back on the bus."

Rainforest Canopy & Zipline Expedition

"I am so glad we signed up through shore excursions. Because we were the only couple on our excursion! We had our own private tour without the high dollar expense. Our guides (Dana and Ashlyn) were awesome, and we got to take our time and really enjoy the scenery. We did see black bears, which was the cherry on top, and we would have enjoyed this even without the bears. Excellent trip!"

Saxman Native Village and Ketchikan City Tour

"The city tour of Ketchikan, Alaska was very pleasant and informative with the accompanying trip to the Saxman Native Village presenting a great understanding of the intentions and complexities of Native American totem poles, illustrated with lots of them on display. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to take us to areas where we could more easily see eagles and bears. Overall, it was a very pleasant excursion."

Three Port Best of Alaska Adventure Package

"This package is expensive for us, but very much worth it. It covered all the bases in Alaska and provided some once in a lifetime experiences. How many people get to say they have drank pure ice cold water from a stream on a glacier??One warning, it's tricky to locate the helipad in Skagway when you are in a hurry, so try to print a map ahead of time, as there aren't signs directing you.?It was also really convenient to have all of the excursions lined up ahead of time and not have to think about it while on the cruise."

Alaska's Ultimate Canopy & Zipline Expedition

"Our 3 girls ages 20, 17 and 11 will remember this the rest of their lives. Of all our Alaska adventures, this topped the charts for them. The guides were experienced and knowledgeable, but made this a ton of fun! I was scared to death, and was even afraid I might have to turn back. (which i think is impossible anyway...) Drew and Jake set my mind at ease and made me comfortable. I was so proud of myself that I did it! The 10 ziplines and 2 suspension bridges are high adventure fun! Even though it was a drizzly day, we had an incredible experience, in large part thanks to our great guides!"

Amazing Whale Watching!
March 05, 2020
This was a great tour to see the best of everything Juneau has to offer. The time at Mendenhall Glacier was just enough although not enough to hike to the waterfall. The whale watching was the most amazing experience. I understand they cannot guarantee what we will see but we saw it all! A pod of Orcas and two Humpbacks. The Humpbacks were so close they had to then the engine off the boat. And to end our adventure with a salmon bake was perfect. Don’t miss the waterfall behind the gift shop! We did have an issue with the bus driver not going to the right place after the Glacier but we didn’t miss out on any of our time whale watching or the salmon bake.

Still can't believe what happened
March 03, 2020
I will never forget this tour for as long as i live. The sailing was super fun and easy and Dominic is so knowledgable about Alaska. He found us some Humpback whales within about an hour and we sailed along side them while the swam and bubble net fed. This was truly amazing. But the best was yet to come. Guess who touched an Orca? Yep this guy did and it wasn't even us chasing the Orca. They were moving right up to us and kept popping up right next to me almost like they were playing and i reached over and touched a dam Orca. I am getting giddy talking about it again. The GoPro Footage i have is a masterpiece BEST TOUR OF MY LIFE

Amazing Tour Of Ketchikan
March 03, 2020
We hadn't planned for the sudden change in Weather but as a great guide Dominic had. We viewed three Black Bears at a place called Herring cove and then he took us to this beautiful waterfall where he also picked some fresh Salmon Berries for us to try (Delicious). Then we went back into town and stopped at a private rock beach where Dominic picked starfish from ocean for the kids to hold and see. He really took the time to make sure our kids were entertained as well as making sure he kept the adults informed with local information and History. The rain got even worse and Dominic took us to a local gem of a place where there was a car museum and also i felt like a kid in a candy store when he took us all into this amazing gun museum. After the family dragged me out of there we went for a walk in the Tongass National forest where we saw another bear this time feeding in a waterfall. Was truly an amazing tour and Dominic i am sorry it has taken this long for this review.

Our Best Tour in Alaska
February 11, 2020
My wife's a little nervous about the sailing aspect but once we got down to the trimarans she was settled very quickly as Dominic made the Safety and Instructions very easy to follow. After about twenty minutes of us sailing around under Dominic's supervision he let us loose so to speak. Absolutely breathtaking experience and the views were just amazing. Then out of nowhere Dominic had us rushing towards this point of a small island where we managed to get within 30 feet of three Humpback Whales feeding. It seemed that everywhere we looked eagles were soaring around us. If you get a chance to do this tour ask Dominic to take you to the small beach where he gets starfish and we saw more whales breaching. This was by far the best tour we had in Alaska and we saw more wildlife in Ketchikan than we did in the rest of Alaska. Thank you Dominic and Bruno (The Dog) for an amazing time with my family.

Gorgeous Scenery
January 27, 2020
My husband and I went on the Misty Fjords Flightseeing tour in August. I was a little bit nervous to go on the small plane since I'm prone to motion sickness. However I had nothing to worry about. The weather was perfect the day of our tour, the pilot assured me I'd be fine and he was right. The flight was so smooth and the scenery breathtaking that I immediately forgot all my worries. Taking off and landing on the water was such a cool experience. This was definitely one of the highlights of our Alaskan vacation!

BEST TOUR EVER
January 18, 2020
We loved every minute on this tour and really have never had a better tour. Dave is so personable and made out trip extra special when he took a crab tooth out of the jaw of the crab and gave it to me. He and his wife spent about a half hour with us after the tour to just chat about common things. We KNOW this is a great tour for children as the children on our tour were amazed by all the thinks we did and saw. There is a lot of participation if you wish on this tour. We will be going on the Aleutian Ballad again in 2020. Can't wait!
