Gold Panning and Gold Creek Salmon Bake

Our grandson picked this excursion. The gold panning was interesting and very informative. The area we panned was beautiful. The Gold Creek Salmon Bake was busy but not crowded. We enjoyed the food. Salmon cooked on open fire and the rest of the sides were buffet style. They had meat options for non-salmon eaters. What was the most amazing part of this adventure (visited in late July) was that the Salmon were running the Gold Creek up to the waterfalls near the old mine. Salmon were everywhere in the creek. My grandson picked one up with his hands. You could see the pink Salmon eggs in the water and unfortunately the dying ones after they spawned. So interesting to see the life cycle of the Salmon. It is a memory I will hold dear in my heart forever.

The tour guide was awesome! Garrett knew the history of the town and provided a wealth of knowledge. Once up by the river he was very helpful with showing us how to pan. My son and I truly enjoyed it. The salmon bake wasn’t that good in my opinion.

This is a fun excursion. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The food at the salmon bake was fabulous!

When we arrived at the stream for our gold panning, our guide handed everyone a pan with dirt in it. The dirt did have flakes on gold already in it. This was a little disappointing. We expected a challenge. The salmon bake was very good in spite of the rainy weather. In the end it was a nice time.

I felt like a real Gold Digger as i got down & dirty learning how the Prospectors (like our Guide Motherlake Matt) searched for Gold in the old days. Our Salmon Bake Lunch was just as wonderful as bringing home the gold!

What a terrific time we had on this combo tour of gold panning and a salmon bake. The guide was terrific. The salmon bake was outstanding. Delicious food, and plenty of it!

Couldn't have asked for a better day, weather was great, our group was fun, and our tour guide Mathew was superb. Very Informative and entertaining. Would do it again.

Our family of 5 took this excursion and it was historically informative and gave us a different perspective on the life of a miner. Plus the salmon bake was FANTASTIC!

The gold panning was a lot of fun. The group leader was very helpful (made sure we all took home some gold). The salmon bake was also super. we all love salmon. the singer was exceptional too. Everyone should have enjoyed it as well.

Gold panning was a lot of fun. The group was small so we got personal attention. Both myself and partner took some gold home and official certificate. Salmon Bake was excellent and the blueberry cake and cornbread were also excellent!

The gold panning was interesting and fun but the high point was the salmon bake. Food was great. Best salmon ever. Fun atmosphere.
