Private Half Day Ketchikan Highlights

We booked this tour out of season due to the Dam Covid. Amazing tour of the whole island and even though it is winter Dominic managed to find us two bears and we got so close to a Hump Back whale right on the dock. It is a day i will never forget for the rest of my life.

We hadn't planned for the sudden change in Weather but as a great guide Dominic had. We viewed three Black Bears at a place called Herring cove and then he took us to this beautiful waterfall where he also picked some fresh Salmon Berries for us to try (Delicious). Then we went back into town and stopped at a private rock beach where Dominic picked starfish from ocean for the kids to hold and see. He really took the time to make sure our kids were entertained as well as making sure he kept the adults informed with local information and History. The rain got even worse and Dominic took us to a local gem of a place where there was a car museum and also i felt like a kid in a candy store when he took us all into this amazing gun museum. After the family dragged me out of there we went for a walk in the Tongass National forest where we saw another bear this time feeding in a waterfall. Was truly an amazing tour and Dominic i am sorry it has taken this long for this review.

We went bear watching in August and couldn't recommend it more highly. We had Dominic as a guide/Driver and he was excellent. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and made you feel at ease for the whole experience. We had the privilege of watching a young adult learning to fish and the drive to and from town was just incredible. Dominic gave us an amazing insight in to what Ketchikan was and is now.

This was a vacation we had been saving for over the past six years and I must say it was beyond our wildest dreams. We had four generations of family on the trip and Dominic catered to our every need. Was so nice to have a owner doing the tours and you can tell he has a passion for this industry. He even made sure we had a wheel chair for my grandmother who couldn't walk after being on the cruise ship so long. Dominic's knowledge of the island and the history was just mind blowing and that would have been enough but we got to see three bears feeding and also saw two Whales feeding on a small private beach. The finical was catching a fish with our own hands in the creek and melting it swim back away. Thank you Dominic for making that memory so special. You are now a friend of the family and I hope to have you come visit us in South Africa.

Not normally one to leave feedback because I always forget. Lol This tour was just amazing. My whole family loved every second of the tour. Dominic even bought his dog Bruno with him so that my children would have a pal to play with. We saw three Bears and two humpback whales as well. Really felt that Dominic gave us special tour but after speaking with others it seems he just makes everybody feel special. Can’t say much more than just an amazing tour.
