Great Ubud tour in Bali

This was a great and remarkably inexpensive tour all through the Ubud area in Bali. The Monkey Forest was great, and learning about Coffee Luwak was really interesting. The local arts and crafts overview was very good.

Wonderful Day

Seeing Bali with a private driver was great! We were met at the port and toured for the day. The car was clean and roomy. We seen a lot and learnt a lot. The whole day was great!

Great Job by Bali Sun Tours Driver

Huge crowds at the tender boats made us arrive over 2 hours late for our tour. I was amazed that our driver (his name was Nyoman) had been able to not only organize separate vehicles to accomodate those that arrived on time, but then personally waited and got another vehicle to take care of us and another late party. I believe we were lucky because there was not a need to have to do this on his end as we were already very late. Due to now diminished time and traffic conditions he had to re-organize our tour a bit, but was able to take us to 3 major destinations and still get us back in time to catch the last couple tenders to our boat. He also provided some good stories and cold water. Very well worth it for our first time in Indonesia.

We got our money's worth for this Ubud tour

Degus was our driver also. Note he meets you outside the port's terminal with your name on a sign. You will be pestered from other tour operators on you way out of the terminal, but just keep looking for the sign with your name. We were pleasantly surprised we had Degus and an air-conditioned SUV all to ourselves. As stated previously, you have the choice of staying as long as you like or deleting one of the attractions. It amazes me how Degus can shift with his left hand instead of his right as we American do and still avoid all the scooters. We saw as much as we wanted and did not have to wait on others as one might have to on ship's shore excursion, not the mention, it was less expensive.

Ubud for a day

It was wonderful to have an air conditioned SUV and an English speaking driver all to ourselves for an extremely reasonable price. Because it was just the two of us, we could choose the length of stay at each attraction. Our driver, Dagos, was amazing at getting us through the traffic and avoiding all the scooters. We were just glad he was driving!! This shore excursion was well worth the money spent and would definitely recommend it. Just remember you will need to find your drive outside the port gates not inside. You will be approached numerous time by others wanting to take you on a tour, but your driver will be holding a sign with your name.

Good tour from Bali Cruisepier

We booked this 6-hour tour from Shore Excursions called Ubud Exploration for day which was on sale for $35 versus $51. While on the ship, we met another couple who decided to book this tour. What we didn't realize until we got on shore is that we both had a driver and private car for our tour. So if you would like to travel together with another couple, make sure you mention it when you book this excursion. The tour included visits to the rice field, Ubud Monkey Forest, arts village, spice gardens (which provided you with an opportunity to sample their various teas and coffees), etc. The nice thing about having a private driver is that you could spend as much or as little times at various locations, depending on your interest. Our driver was Degus. He was very pleasant and a careful driver who made sure we got back to the ship on time. While his English was limited, we were still able to communicate. Nice tour for a fraction of what the ship was charging for their own tours.

Excellent Guide and Driver

We didn't know what to expect on this tour. The price was very reasonable. We got a drive and a guide. The guide told us what the sites were to be seen. We didn't want to do the monkey deal and that was fine. We visited the main attractions the ship's tour did but with only two of us. I had a special request and our two pro's came thru with flying colors, taking us to a little shop that made license plates for vehicles. I had one custom made for a friend. Excellent!

Unforgettable Ubud

We enjoyed our short visit to this interesting town, with its many attractions. We may forget some of them, but not the Luwak Coffee ceremony, the Monkey Forrest and the Rice Terraces. I wished we had more time...
