Silver Fern Train and Moeraki Boulders

When we first met our guide we were pleasnting surprised to find out the 4 of us were the only ones on the tour. Then he told us the Train was broken down. He did have a couple of options for alternatives as well as getting out money back. We picked one of the options which was to have a tour with a Native New Zealander, we drove out to the small village, were we went on a boat and paddled across the river. We planted bushes to help save the Sand Bar and then went on walking tour of the ocean beach. We had lunch with wine provided by the guides and a local deli next to the tour shop. We then went to the Boulders, and returned to the ship in plenty of time. While we know we were lucky to have a very private tour we will definitely try more Small group Excursions from Shore Excursion Group on our next cruise.
