Fun but not the best use of time
December 01, 2019
Having been to Grand Cayman before, we wanted to visit our favorite beach, Rum Point. This was the only excursion we found to go there. The problem was our ship got in early and we had to waste time before we went on the tour. The tour took an hour or so and our ship was leaving in the early afternoon so we only got maybe an hour at Rum Point. We also took a boat to the shopping area where our same bus driver picked us up, but we had to wait another 30 min or so for the boat. It seemed silly and like there was a lot of wasted time on this tour.

historical and cultural tour
May 09, 2019
There were five of us that went on this tour and we all had a good time. It started a little later than the other tours so we did not have to rush to get there and did some shopping on the short walk to the office. We rode in a nice tour nus with A/C and Bernie was out tour guide. Bernie talked about the history of the island as we drove and pointed out homes of celebrities and all sorts of interesting details. We stopped at two beaches and had plenty of time to swim, walk around and get lunch or drinks and then we took a boat back across to bay. The boat ride was boring and the driver did not say anything during the ride. We met Brenie again after the boat ride and he took us back through town and pointed out some cool stuff. We got a good tour of a lot of the island and still had a couple hours to walk around and shop after we were done.

Quite Informative and relaxing!
April 24, 2019
For those who enjoy learning about the history of Grand Cayman and it's wonderful people, this is a wonderful overview! The bus to Rum Point wasn't too long and our driver was friendly and informative. Rum point was a nice surprise! A great place to try out some water sports, adult drinks, food, and plenty of shaded places to enjoy the stop! The boat ride back to Georgetown was fun and a nice way to see part of Grand Cayman from a different vantage point! My husband and I really enjoyed this tour!

Need longer time on beach
April 15, 2019
Island beautiful but it seemed that driver wasted time driving us to beach by stopping in front of houses that he was impressed with and telling us who owned them. He could have taken us straight to beach and give us info on the way without pulling over. Liked the ferry ride.

SMALL GROUP WHICH WAS MORE ENJOYABLE THAN CRUISE LINE EXCURSIONS. NOT FAR FROM SHIP EXIT WAS THE EXCURSION PROVIDER. TOUR HOST GREG HAD EXCEPTIONAL IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF ISLAND AND TOOK US ALL OVER ISLAND SO COULD SEE THE REAL RESIDENTS LIFE.JUST BE AWARE THERE IS ONLY ABOUT AN HOUR OF BEACH TIME.

March 08, 2019
We enjoyed our ride and driver to Rum Point. Unfortunately I’ve forgotten his name (possibly Bernie) but he was so interesting and very helpful!! We were able to return back to Georgetown via and ferry, which was fun and we were once again met by our driver who brought us back to the pier. I would recommend this trip.

We enjoyed riding to the other side of the island. The one beach was closed and we ended up going to Star Point beach which was nice. Then we went to another place for lunch which was not included. Overall, the driver was informative and we saw a lot of the island.

Just Ok
December 24, 2018
This was my second port stop in Grand Cayman, I previously did a tour that included a visit to "Hell" and the Turtle Farm, so I wanted to see more of the island. The driver Bernie was great and knowledgeable. He did his best as one other passenger complained about the tour portion of the excursion constantly. Perhaps she didn't read that it was not just a beach stop when she booked it. I enjoyed the scenery, perhaps it would have been enhanced if there were stops we could get off and explore and take photos. For a non stop bus tour, it was ok. Rum Point was a cool beach stop. I wanted to do a less crowded beach than 7 mile. I wish there were more food options. The food was a bit disappointing. It didn't taste as authentic as I would have liked. Based on other islands Jerk Chicken, this tasted more like something I could have made at home. The drinks were better in my opinion than the food. We got to go to a sister beach resort front briefly before the boat ride back.

We Had a Very Good Time
August 13, 2018
It is very easy to get to this pick-up location. Although we didn't go to Rum Point because the sea weed was so bad, our tour guide, Birian, executed a plan B to perfection. Birian is knowledgeable, chatty and funny. As we drove around he was able to give a lot of history. Instead of Rum Point we went to Seven Mile beach next to the Governor's house. He also gave us the opportunity to check two restaurants to eat at. There was four of us on this tour and we chose to have lunch at a small seaside restaurant that had outside seating. Before he took us back to the cruise port he took us to Hell.

Rum Point Rocks!
June 11, 2018
We loved our trip to the other side of the island. Rum Point was a great place to hang out. We had a delicious lunch of calamari and the drinks were the best we had the entire cruise. Beautiful setting. Enjoyed the trip there and back also. Only complaint is that it took much longer to get to Rum Point than we anticipated and we would have loved to have stayed longer.

Perfect choice away from the crowds
May 21, 2018
I was looking for a small group tour for our 3rd cruise to Grand Cayman. There were 7 cruise ships on the island that port day and we wanted to get away from the crowds. “Grand Cayman Far Side Tour” was a perfect choice from my husband and me. We took a Captain Marvin van to a boat dock where we were ferried to the north end of Grand Cayman. There we spent time at Starfish and Rum Point beaches. We saw the countryside during a small van ride back to the NCL Dawn.

The Far Side tour is beautiful! Along with two other couples we spent several hours touring the backside of Grand Cayman. We stopped at Starfish Beach and spent two hours on Rum Point Beach. Our guide was friendly and informative. We were away from most other tourists and cruisers, so all in all this was a great trip.

Weather influence
February 22, 2018
Due to strong winds, we had to dock in a different area so we did not get to Georgetown but the rest of the excursion was great !! The tour was very interesting and the beach stop was very relaxing - beautiful beach and great food. The only disappointment was that if we wanted to go snorkeling, it cost - it wasn't included in the tour fee.

Rough Start
January 27, 2018
We arrived in Grand Cayman on a day with rough seas and none of the cruise ships could anchor in the normal downtown location. The ship made arrangement to bus passagers about 15 minutes to a downtown mall. For the cruiseline excursions, the buses met passagers at the shoreline, but we had to take the bus downtown and then walk 10-12 blocks to our meeting point. Good excursion once this hassel was over. We were returned to the ship once the excursion was finished. Driver was very good and gave us 2 hours of information on the island.

Kinda okay
January 08, 2018
Spent 1 hour on the beach. The Captain Marvin service is like a uber-pool, they gather people for a ride then fetch them together with others. Got to ride the ferry taxi which I am not aware included to the tour or not. The ferry taxi was cool, you get to see iguanas on the mangroves. If ever you're going to eat there, they got big servings since they charge cayman dollars. 1 hour at the beach is not enough.

Quiet side of Grand Cayman
December 18, 2017
We chose this tour to see another side of the island, since we've been to Grand Cayman twice before. Our driver, Birnie, was awesome, very knowledgeable and proud of his island. He kept up a running commentary throughout the drive to Rum Point. Rum Point is a lovely spot, with restaurants, shopping and a small beach. Saw a small Stingray. I wish there was more time to spend here. Because of the heavy traffic in Georgetown, we only had an hour to enjoy this little gem. Maybe the tour could be extended in the future. I definitely recommend this tour.

A small tour of an interesting island.
August 25, 2017
The starting location was easy to find and the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our driver was 20 minutes late, but he took us to all of the places mentioned and we felt that we got a good look at the island. We were amazed at how expensive it is to eat on the island. I'm glad I went on a cruise, as I will never schedule a vacation there. Another unfortunate incident was that our ferry driver on the way back from the restaurant to pick up some stranded tourists. The tourists were unappreciative, and it made us so late that we had no time in the town to shop or look around.

We expected to be in a van with a few other people, but as it turned out, my friend and I were the only ones on the tour that day. We had to good fortune to have Birnie as our tour guide. He was knowledgable and just delightful. He told us about the history and took us to see the sights. It was a lot of fun.

Grand Caymen Far Side Tour
June 30, 2017
8-10 of us boarded the van and headed off to see things that the average cruiser does not see. It was great to see real life on the island. Wish that the tour company had provided water for us. When we got to our lunch/beach stop at Rum Point we were distressed to find that the town had shut the electric power off so that they could do upgrades. That meant that the restrooms were locked and food was not available.Eventually things were up and running. We could pay for our food with US dollars but change was in local currency only. Sooo, what do they do with the US $??? The beach and water were BEAUTIFUL. The tour also included a water taxi ride. Saw big iguanas in the mangroves! Very nice tour.
