Marigot Bay to Roseau River Kayaking

Amazing experience
March 13, 2023
This was by far one of the best excursions we’ve been on. Highly recommended. Vanessa did a fabulous job as our guide. The area was interesting, challenging and exciting to visit and experience. Such a beautiful island. The ride to and from Marigot Bay was just as awesome as the kayaking 😁

Best Excursion Ever
March 28, 2020
Pick up was on time and we were taken to Marigot By which is idyllic. After our kitting out and safety briefing we had a short paddle around the bay to acclimatise ourselves to the kayaks and then headed out along the coast. Being in such a small group, just 3 couples, was great. The coastal part of the trip took about 30 minutes and then we pulled the kayaks up onto a sandbar and carried them across to the river. We went up two branches of the river and this was so quiet and relaxing. We could go at our own pace just enjoy the scenery. The whole kayaking trip with breaks took over two hours, which was wonderful as on ship's excursions you are sometimes lucky to get 40 minutes. You do need a basic level of fitness but we are both in our seventies and coped comfortably. We enjoyed absolutely every minute of the trip. The only thing that could have improved it would have been to have an extra half an hour at the kayak base to have a drink at the bar after our trip.

Amazing Adventure!
March 12, 2020
We always take cruise excursions, so this was our 1st attempt at off-cruise excursions and I'm here to tell you it was amazing!!! I fell in love with St. Lucia because of this beautiful excursion! We were able to see so much more of the island by kayaking down Roseau River and the tour guide was knowledgeable and fun! We would definitely do it again!

Great day paddling!!
November 13, 2019
Thanks to Vanessa for an informative look at the mangroves and commentary on life in St. Lucia. Dive Fair - Helen took care of everything we could need on a paddle, even water and a sampling of local fruit. We were picked up from the cruise ship, and drop off at the cruise pier was timely; staff were friendly; the weather was perfect.

Absolutely beautiful!
July 22, 2019
We were promptly picked up at the cruise terminal and driven through the windy mountain roads to the beautiful Marigot Bay. We were then ferried across the bay to pickup our kayaks. We were provided bottled water and screens for protecting our legs from the sun. The water is amazingly clear and the paddle out from bay was slow and easy. We cruised around the mountains to a beach where we transferred to the fresh water river. We were given an opportunity to paddle through a section and explore by ourselves as our guide hung back. It was beautiful, peaceful and fun. Our guide was a younger man who was a bit quiet, so it was sometimes hard to hear him, but over all, he did a great job! We were even given time to play on the beach. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Kayaking on St Lucia
April 25, 2019
This was our favorite excursion of the entire cruise. They picked us up at at the boat and drove us across the island to Margot Bay where they filmed Dr Doolittle. Water taxi to the resort. Other ship goers were there at the beach but not too many. Our personal guide was Alden. Ask for him. They get you in the kayak off the dock. Listen to him and you won't get wet. We should have gotten the leg cover cause even with sunscreen we got toasted. You will go across the bay and then out into the ocean. You better be ready to paddle. Alden took us to a private beach that locals go to. Back out in the ocean to the mouth of the river. Black sand and a guy letting you try local fruits. Into the amazing lagoon. Saw lots of wildlife and then way up the river due to us being alone and not waiting on anyone. Came back and would have liked to have lunch in an open air dining room but the sun burn got us. Everybody there was amazing. We will do this again sometime.

Billiant Excursion
March 19, 2019
Booked this excursion quite last minute prior to 12 night cruise, have to day I was a little apprehensive as it wasn't the 'popular' Pitons sightseeing tour that everyone seems to do and it felt like a bit of a gamble. How wrong could I have been??? In the most secluded and beautiful spot, with glorious views and secluded beaches to die for. Our guide was fabulous. Kayaking is physically demanding but there was no pressure for the the less 'fit' members of our group to 'keep up'. Breathtaking scenery, saw 'off the beaten track' places and love the pit stop for a sample of local grown fruit. Awesome day with awesome people. Book it, you wont be disappointed.

Awesome guides and experience
April 09, 2018
We had a fantastic time. There were two guides for our small group of six. Marigot Bay is gorgeous and we had plenty of time to get used to the kayaks before hitting the open ocean. You experience dramatic sea cliffs, paddling in through the surf, calm mangroves, and a peaceful river. Wear plenty of sunscreen and reapply. Don't worry about the effort- we're newbies and weren't sore the next day. Our guides were extremely attentive- we dropped a pair of sunglasses into the water at the mangroves and he dove into the muddy water and found them. Have faith-it may seem a little chaotic at first. The way you are picked up in the port is different but saves you from having to navigate all the pushy people outside of the cruise terminal. The driver took us straight back to the ship and found us the cheapest place for a cold beer in Marigot.

Absolutly Amazing
May 26, 2017
One of the greatest parts about this trip was the excursion size. There were only 3 of us. My guess is that this never exceeds 8-10 at the most. Shortly have we started kayaking, there was no sign of any civilization. The cliffs and rock formations were absolutely amazing. We had good swells so the water crashing and pressurizing blow holes was a site to remember. Eventually, we landed on a deserted beach and took a break to explore and swim before we continued our trip up a river. This is something I will do again and would recommend it to anyone that likes water and paddling. The only thing I would change is to use a double kayak. My 15 yr old can hold her own in a kayak but by the end she was completely out of gas.

Would love to do it again
November 20, 2015
Marigot Bay is post-card icon of ""tropical paradise"". We were treated to a ""private"" kayaking tour since no one else had purchased. A little tricky finding the bus at port, but easy after that. Our guide ""Terry"" was extremely knowledgeable and very informative; would request him if we went again. Great job tutoring novices on fine points of kayaking technique. Beautiful views, both ocean and river. Terry got out of his kayak, climbed a coconut tree, and poured us fresh coconut milk. What a treat! Exciting at ocean/river confluence-- roller coaster, but well guided by our man. Supplied us a ""dry bag"" for camera. Small lockers available for towels (NC)
