This was our most favorite excursion while on our Disney Cruise. We opted for this non-Disney excursion because our son was too young to participate in similar excursions thru Disney (he was 4 yrs old). We were a family group of 11 and rode on the Coconut catamaran from the Sugar Bay Resort & Spa. There was only one other group on the boat with us, and maybe 20-24 of us total. There were 2 guides, Melly and Victoria who were very friendly, helpful and on top of things. Our family consisted of 6 adults and 5 children ages 4-11. We all were very comfortable and felt safe. Our trip was to Lovango Cay and the waters going there and back were very calm and no one on board got sick. The sail was about an hour and we had about an hour to snorkel. Snorkel gear was provided (snorkel, mask, fins, and float vest) if needed, but we had brought our own gear. Drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) and snacks (Chex Mix & veggies and dip) were served on the sail back. The trip was very relaxing and fun. I would highly recommend it if you love being in the ocean. To get to Sugar Bay (were the catamaran is), it was a little stressful with time. The earliest we could get off the cruise ship was 7:45am. We planned to debark at 8:00am with the intensions of being at Sugar Bay by 8:40am, but of course, with a party of 11, some were running a few minutes late. It was probably 8:08am by the time all of us were off the cruise ship and began our hunt for a taxi. There were plenty of ""taxis"" waiting close by, but because we wanted to get to Sugar Bay (~20-25 minute drive) immediately, we were directed further down the road to additional taxis. We finally found someone who was willing to take us. The taxis were quite expensive at $10/person EACH way. And, the ""taxis"" were open-air cars with no seat belts (think trams like the parking lot trams at Disney Parks). We made it to Sugar Bay JUST IN TIME. If you're in a large group like us, the taxi driver will likely want to pick you up after your excursion, too (guaranteed wages!) and will ask when you want them to come back. If you want to spend some time on the beautiful beach after the excursion, then plan for it. We didn't plan well and the taxi driver was already waiting for us at when our catamaran returned. We had wanted to stay on the beach longer, but we had already asked the taxi driver to come back at a certain time and she was not willing to wait any longer. Overall this excursion was fantastic and I would love to do it again. I didn't have little kids, I could've stayed out there snorkeling for at least another hour, if the excursion allowed. Otherwise, the only thing I would do different is to plan for more time at the beach afterwards.

The representative at the beach was wonderful and gave us a brief history of the island and the reasons behind certain things that were unusual. His attitude and helpfulness set the tone for an entirely enjoyable excursion.
we plan on returning to the island of St.Croix in the near future. We will take another snorkle trip with this crew. The catamaran is beautiful and we saw wonderful scenery of the area.
