Exclusive Medieval Tallinn Highlights

This was one of the best excursions I’ve ever had. Our tour guide Kadia was wonderful! It was touring with a history teacher that didn’t just study a county’s history but lived it. We were on a cruise to many counties and Estonia was my favorite port because of this tour and tour guide. I would highly recommend this excursion to all.

Be prepared for walking uphill/downhill. The guide took us to a few places for "shopping" that are not listed in the itinerary, but she is not "pushing" though...

Easy transportation from the ship to old town. Because it was a very small town and 6 ships were in the harbor, it was very very crowded. The guide did her/his (can't remember so I guess the person was not exceptional) to get us around and tell us some history. Mostly this town could have been done without a guide. It was good hearing the history of the country on the bus, though.

We really enjoyed this experience. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Tallinn and had plenty of time to explore afterward. I appreciated the small group and informative guide.

Our bus was waiting for us at the port and it was a very short ride into the city of Tallinn. It was like stepping into a fairy tale. It is a beautiful little place with lovely people and shops that were so welcoming. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the country and how it has arrived at its present day The only issue I had was that the guide should have a microphone to speak and we should have had some type of a hearing device to hear her. Many times words were missed because of the crowds of people there. There is another part of Tallinn that is very different from the old and nothing was mentioned about that. It does seem to be a thriving place and definitely worth the history lesson.

We enjoyed walking around the old city and seeing the beauty of Tallinn! The day was a bit rainy, but this did not dampen the spirits of our guide, she was enthusiastic and carried on with gusto! A great city to see!!

If you've traveled through Europe and toured the varied cities, usually you will find that many of the original early construction has been damaged, destroyed or rebuilt. Tallinn was not damaged by WW2 bombs and has the most complete medieval architecture and building that has been continually in use. When walking through the old town you can actually imagine how the 15th & 16th century inhabitants lived. This is a tour that shouldn't be missed.

A very informative and well structured tour. We were bussed to the top of the old city and did a walking tour through the old city. The guide was very informative and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Great little tour of the town

Took this in combination with the St.Petersburg tour; would recommend this combination package. Our guide was knowledgeable and enhanced the descriptions with a local person's perspective and light good humor, which brightened a rainy, foggy summer day! Since the tour ends in the town square, we did have to find our own way back to the cruise ship port. Our guide obligingly provided us with complete instructions (reliable taxi company, fare, etc.), which was above and beyond.

A beautiful country, with one of the best preserved old towns that I have ever seen. Be sure to bring some Euros to cover entrance to some sights after this tour as well as some high quality linen products the local merchants sell that are made in Estonia. Also, I'd bring cash to grab a lunch as well as to sample some of the local beer! You can walk back to your ship after the tour ends.

Our tour of Tallinn was excellent. There were only two of us and our tour guide was great. We saw all the major sights of the Old Town of Tallin and walked to the newer town.

The town was very fascinating and our guide was very friendly, knowageable, and personable. I would highly recommend this tour.

Enjoyed this tour of the old and new with a very experienced guide who allowed ample time to explore the sights and fully inform us as to what we were seeing. Overall, good value.

It was nice to be picked up at the port and taken to Tallin. Our guide was knowledgable and helpful. We enjoyed walking around on our own for awhile. When we went to find a cab to return to the ship, a young girl was extremely helpful to get a taxi for us. It would have been nice to have the bus take us back to the ship, even though there was the cab or the hop on hop off bus.

Our group of 4 adults really enjoyed this tour. None of us were familiar with Estonia so the tour was a great learning experience and we thoroughly enjoyed the city and its history. A very enjoyable day!

The tour was exactly as advertised and our guide kept us moving through the crowed old city (she also knew where to find "free" toilets with minimal lines). We all enjoyed the sights and perspective provided by the guide. Her instructions on the best return path to the ship was also a valuable tip, saved us some taxi fare and the short walk also included some added sights along the way.

We loved everything about our walking tour. Estonia ended up being one of the highlights of our cruise trip, thanks to our awesome guide and the interesting history of this tiny country. We woudn't have gotten nearly as much out of the experience without a guided tour, as our time there was fairly short. Our guide even gave us a recommendation for a lunch restaurant, and for an Estonian film to watch (she is a film student at university). The film is called "Tangerines-" I would recommend it as well!

My wife and I found this to be an excellent tour. While we expected others to be with us there were only the two of us and of course the guide, who I might add was exceedingly knowledgeable, very friendly and so welcoming. In all we spent over three hours touring the old city and the time flew by. Not only was the guide (a young lady Kadri), so informative but responded to all the many and various questions we asked. Needless to say we came away with a great appreciation for Tallinn, Estonia in general and its people. We highly recommend this tour. Dick and Mary Hawkshaw Canada
