Mt Vesuvious Hike/ Pompeii Tour

The vesuvius hike was cancelled--the area was closed due to light rain. Instead the AM tour took us to the ruins of Herculaneum..It's a winner: similar to Pompeii, but smaller and much less crowded.'then we did the PM tour of Pompeii. I found Pompeii redundant after Hercuaneum. The combination hike/tour woud have been much better.

Guide was well informed. Weather was hot and humid so it was a long day. We enjoyed the lunch which was a needed break after climbing Mount Vesuvius.

Incredible Experience

Of all the shore excursions we took during the cruise, this was the very best one by far. My husband, 2 grown sons and I had a driver and guide for the day. The driver expertly navigated us through all of the traffic and congestion while the guide familiarized us with the local area. We drove right up everywhere, no lines or waiting as the tickets had been pre-purchased. The guide was so knowledgeable, fun and spoke impeccable English. Lunch was also included at a restaurant pre-selected by the guide, which was the best meal we ate on shore the entire week. This excursion was pricey, but so worth it.
