Kerala's Backwaters and Fishing Nets

While we enjoyed the Backwaters, the guide, crew, and chefs, we were disappointed that we did not get to the fishing nets as the title of the tour implies. The freshly prepared lunch was an enjoyable culturally immersive culinary experience.

THIS WAS A VERY WELL ORGANIZED TOUR THANKS TO MUZIRIS HERITAGE TOURS AND GUIDE SHARM WHO WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. THE HOUSEBOAT TOUR WAS VERY INTERESTING AND THE INDIAN LUNCH SERVED WAS EXCELLENT AND GENEROUS. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO VISIT HISTORICAL ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI CHURCH BUILT IN 1503 AS WELL AS JEWTOWN WHERE THE OLDEST SYNAGOGUE IN THE COMMONWEALTH WAS BUILT IN 1568. THERE WAS ALSO TIME TO VISIT A COOPERATIVE HANDICRAFT SHOP TO BUY WITHOUT UNDUE SALES PRESSURE. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHORE EXCURSIONS GROUP FOR THIS TOUR AS WELL AS THE OTHER FIVE TOURS UNDERTAKEN THROUGH SEG.

Everything worked well on this port side tour including the timely pick up, great itinerary and very good guide. Lots of useful history was communicated during the drive to the boat launch - a drive that was very memorable given the informal road rules. The boat ride through the backwaters was excellent including a very tasty lunch. The brief visit to the Chinese fishing nets was also pretty cool. The only fault we found, one that is typical of many tours, is the final visit to a high end store that was of very little interest to most of the participants. Overall, a very good day!

Enjoyed houseboat tour of backwaters. Included lunch, wonderful scenery. Saw the fishing nets, toured the old city and viewed the outside of the synagogue which was closed for Passover. Highly recommend this tour to people who want to see something different than regular tourist attractions.
