La Corona and the Famara Cliffs
Challenging hike
April 14, 2019
This is an excellent and strenuous hike. Definitely more difficult than described in the brochure. We were picked up promptly from our ship and driven to the start of the hike. We were provided with walking poles and snacks. Marcelo is a wonderful guide, who led the group on this very challenging hike. Not for anyone with mobility issues. If you can do it, I highly recommend this hike. Beautiful views and a great challenge!

A true adventure

Marcello was an excellent guide. The description does not mention that the length of the hike is about 6 km and covers some high ascents. The walk over the mountainous terrain included very loose volcanic rocks (sliding hazard). We were provided with walking sticks which were definitely required to assist. Some of the trails were quite steep, and at one point Marcello organized some of us in a kind of "train" where we held each other's shoulders to safely make the descent. I wore laced-up trainers, but wished I had brought my hiking boots. While the hike was more strenuous than what I anticipated, the scenery was definitely worth it! I would happily go again, and I am recommending this tour to my friends who are avid hikers.
