A Taste of Palermo

On this tour you will visit a variety of places including visiting Capo and Vucciria markets.

Your adventure begins as you and your guests meet your licensed local tour guide at Piazza Verdi and receive your personal foodie passport, or Passaporto del Mangione, to record your experience. Learn about the city's street food culture as well as its Arab and Jewish culinary heritage while you sample delicious treats such as potato croquettes, chickpea fritters, rice balls, soft pizza - even a spleen sandwich (depending on availability). Make your tasting official by getting your Passaporto del Mangione stamped at every spot.

While making your way through Palermo you will also see the city's art and discover its rich history with stops at elegant squares and art scenes. Enjoy a glass of local wine as you walk through the alleys and markets. And no food tour would be complete without a bite of a seasonal dessert. Your tour concludes at the Palermo Cathedral, an impressive 12th-century structure with a mixture of architectural styles due to its many renovations over the years.

If you love food, this is the tour for you! Fill up your Passaporto del Mangione as you survey Palermo's street food scene by booking your tour now.

Best Tour of my Trip

Angelo (our guide) was a local to Palermo. He took us to lots of spots where everyone knew him and we were treated SO well. I feel like an excursion through the cruise ship would not have been able to offer that. The group was small and from all over the world and everyone spoke English, which I had a hard time finding on an Italian cruise. Pick this tour. You will NOT be disappointed.

Our guide was funny, informative, extremely knowledgeable and truly loves Palermo. It was apparently great to get a true look at living in Palermo. Such a great experience. We even learned a cool toast.

We met our tour guide in front of the Palermo Opera House, and started right on schedule. Our guide was very friendly and shared the history of the town as we walked through. The food was excellent, and a great way to sample a little bit of everything. We had a great time!
