New England Aquarium and Theatre Combo

Spend a day learning about, and interacting with the ocean while touring the New England Aquarium in Boston. Add even more fun and adventure by going under the sea in a brilliant film with a discounted combo package.

Boston's New England Aquarium features over 70 different exhibits to educate and engage you. You'll learn about the tropical ocean and coral reefs at the Giant Ocean Tank. Enjoy 360 degree views of a spectacular, four-story Caribbean coral reef teeming with more animals than ever before. In 2013, the iconic Giant Ocean Tank underwent a top-to-bottom, 21st century transformation, including windows that provide crystal-clear viewing opportunities, a vibrant revitalized coral reef with more than 1,000 fishes, and the Yawkey Coral Reef Center at the top of the exhibit. The colorful Caribbean coral reef is home to sea turtles, eels, and over a thousand tropical fishes of all sizes.

Then waddle over and meet rockhoppers and African penguins at the penguin exhibit. Be amazed as you visit the Amazon forest to see exotic piranhas, poison dart frogs, and electric eels without leaving Boston as you tour the New England Aquarium.

Experience the largest shark and ray touch tank on the east coast, featuring sharks and rays in a mangrove-themed tank surrounded by shallow edges and viewing windows. Reach out and gently touch the backs of cownose rays, Atlantic rays, and sharks as they swim gracefully through the water. The exhibit presents these incredible species in a way that highlights their importance in a healthy ocean ecosystem. It also emphasizes the value of conserving essential coastal habitats, such as mangroves and lagoons. There's so much for you and your family to learn as you get up close and pet sharks and rays or just admire the snapdragons, seals, and many other marine animals.

Once you're done visiting all the incredible exhibits, experience the wonders of the ocean on the silver screen while at the New England Aquarium. Visit some of the Pacific Ocean’s most pristine islands and atolls bursting with diversity in "Hidden Pacific." Explore jungles crawling with exotic animals before plunging beneath the ocean’s surface to see the abundance of marine life in the coral reefs. Learn the storied history of the islands and discover their current role as environmental research centers.

Follow the incredible journey of a spry young green sea turtle as it encounters astonishing ocean creatures on the adventure of a lifetime in "Turtle Odyssey." From hatching along sandy Australian beaches to gliding along ocean currents, watch as this remarkable reptile traverses thousands of miles of open ocean - and then migrates with mysterious precision back to the very beach where it was born. Russell Crowe narrates as researchers trek through these same aquatic wonderlands, encountering the majestic corals of the Great Barrier Reef and breathtaking breaching whales. Turtle Odyssey reminds us just how interconnected we all are with the ocean.

The glittering oceans contain profound mysteries beneath the waves, and "Oceans: Our Blue Planet" reveals those breathtaking stories from the deep. From athletic dolphins at play to a clever octopushiding in plain sight, explore the dramatic events and intimate lives of the oceans’ most extraordinary creatures. Through these encounters, we’ll also discover how we all depend on the health of ouroceans, the largest environment on Earth.

No tour of Boston is complete without spending a day at the New England Aquarium at the Boston Central Wharf. With this ticket combo package you'll be able to take your experience a step further with this theatre combo.

Aquarium and IMAX are interesting
August 02, 2018
Nice aquarium and interesting IMAX show. As a Monterey Bay Aquarium member, was a bit underwhelmed by the aquarium.
