ATV Dominican Adventure
Start this great adventure by meeting with your friendly, local guide just outside your Amber Cove, Puerto Plata cruise ship pier area. Climb aboard the comfortable transportation for a short, 2-minute ride to the ATV base camp.
The base is located at a private, local ranch complete with picturesque lush, tropical vegetation, fun trails, and small streams. Once you've arrive, you will be matched up with a Honda 420cc 4X4 ATV. You will be given brief safety instructions, but these are very simple to drive. In fact, beginners are welcome and there's no license required to drive. Once you're on your ATV and strap on your helmet (mandatory), it's time to follow your guide through the ranch, past little houses and farms where you will see the authentic countryside.
Drive your ATV on various terrains including two beaches and through the ever-changing countryside. You will ride for approximately 15 minutes to Teco's Beach, make a stop for a quick dip in the ocean if you wish or simply enjoy the view and a refreshment.
Next, make your way to another ranch where you can stop and shop for souvenirs such as cigars, cacao, and coffee. Take the opportunity to taste samples of the variety of goods before deciding what you like the best, approximate time spent here will be 15 minutes.
Then you're off riding once again to Guzmansito Beach, approximately 10 minutes away, where you will get a chance to ride along the beach and enjoy the views. This is a pristine, secluded beach where you can stop for more refreshments and some photos.
Make an optional stop at Martin's gift shop where guests can see local handicrafts, stones from the Dominican mines, local clothing and more.
Your ATV excursion ends with a 20-minute drive back to the ranch base and then your guide will escort you back to the cruise ship terminal.
Total ATV riding time is approximately 2.5 hours.

There were 6 of us all in our 40’s. We truly enjoyed riding the 4wheelers. The scenery was beautiful. The terrain was perfect. Our tour guide Bart was very knowledgeable. This was the best part of our trip. I do suggest taking sun glasses to keep the dust out of your eyes.

Our first time on riding ATV's, Staff was exemplary, explanation of safety, features and test run were surprising because ,Thinking safety was only where I worked. Riding duration was enough and we would do it again, fun fun fun. love it. Con bandanna to cover your face from dust, the price in the gift shop was ridiculous high $16US. Bring your own dust mask.

My wife and I joined other friends/family on this excursion. I must say that it was pretty enjoyable. We were able to explore the real living in the area. The tours was worth the money, the guides were very welcoming and made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. We would do this again if we were to return to the area again.

This was by far my first time riding a four-wheeler for a long period of time. However, I really enjoyed myself. The guys that were leading us were awesome. They provided beverages becauseit was extremely hot. They were also very welcoming and excited to have tourist in the area. The cost was worth the ride/tour. My husband and I had a blast. We would definitely do it again.
