Excellent and relaxing way to learn about the culture of Kerala. Local fresh-caught fish and other dishes prepared on the houseboat during a relaxing float through the backwaters. Could see close up how people lived, how they use the river to wash everything from clothes to their hair to fish they caught. Excursion was very well organized. So much better than the ship's excursion; there was only us and one other couple, and we had lunch cooked right on the boat, not in a restaurant. Guide and driver and boat staff were all super. Also toured Cochin. We should have asked to skip what seemed to be a mandatory shop visit. Don't we all dislike those?
