Nassau holds much beauty and an almost endless variety of things to do, but this excursion will offer a very special glimpse into the world of wines and winemaking.

Make your way to the beautiful Graycliff Restaurant where your tour will take place. Become a winemaker for a day and learn to blend your own wine during this hands-on unique experience.

You will discover the first winery in the Bahamas, housed in a charming 1937 church built by the Sisters of Charity. Although the Bahamas is not a wine producer, bottles of wine are blended from grapes gathered from several countries making it a truly unique Bahamian experience. Here you can taste wines from across the globe, learn the entire grape-growing season, and be educated on the wine-making process. As leaders in the revitalization of West Hill Street, this location of the Sisters of Charity convent, its chapel, and the former Mountbatten home, has been transformed into an area where visitors can explore the culture and history of The Bahamas.

Your expert and knowledgeable guides will lead you through the nuances of wine tannins, acidity, balance and finish. Continue your experience by mixing and blending the varietals to create your very own bottle of wine, bottled with your own label to memorialize your visit to Bahama Barrels at Graycliff.

This very mouthwatering experience is not to be missed, groups size is kept small to provide an intimate and one-on-one experience so sign up today and don't miss out.

Winemaker review

I did this excursion with my best friend. We had so much fun making out our wine and being silly. The guy with Bahama Barrels was very kind and put up with us having fun. He helped us with everything from start to finish. We sampled different wines before making our own. We were able to mix, bottle, cork, and label our wine before taking it home. These wine bottles make perfect souvenirs

For all the wine lovers this one is for you!! My husband and I had an amazing time tasting wine and creating our own wine. 🍷 You also get to name and label your bottle. I labeled mine Gemini Life. I was impressed with our Wine Expert. She was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of historical facts about the area. This is an easy walk from ship port to Bahama Barrels. You can take a taxi for about $12.00. We walk both ways. Took us about 20 minutes. Now that the new port area is open it might be a shorter distance. Anyway just book this excursion.

This was one of the key highlights of our trip. We had a great time and came home with 4 personalized bottles of wine we are saving for another special occasion. We would do this one again in a heartbeat!

Wine making

We highly recommend this excursion especially if you enjoy wine. We had a great time and we blended 4 bottles of wine to our taste. We learned how they make the wine and all the processes that go into making the wine. 5stars and we plan to do it again on our next visit.

Fantastic

Walked to the Grey cliff Hotel from the ship. Not a very long walk, but part was uphill. Went to what was the chapel which was beautifully restored. We were given 2 reds and 2 whites to sample and then allowed to blend our own. After we got our perfect blend we bottled it in 750 ml bottles and labeled it with our unique label. I thought it would be a sample bottle bit was quite surprised when it was not
