Belfast City Tour on Bicycle
Hop on a California Cruiser bicycle to navigate the city known as Linenopolis due to its linen production in the 19th Century, to being an urban center of strife known as the Troubles from 1969 to 1998. Belfast's motto is Pro Tanto Quid Retribuamus, Latin for what shall we give in return for so much, and that is what you will experience on this bike tour: so much, since you'll see the real Belfast most visitors don't get the chance to experience.
Begin your tour in the Cathedral Quarter, which in recent years has become the cultural hub of the city. So named for its proximity to St. Anne's Cathedral, this section of Belfast is comprised of beautiful public squares, outdoor performance venues, pubs, shopping areas, and the glorious Cathedral Gardens.
You can't miss St. Anne's Cathedral, which oddly serves two dioceses, conceived by Sir Thomas Drew and consecrated in 1904. Atop its roof is the 40 meter (131 ft) Spire of Hope (lit at night), and on the side of the Cathedral is the giagantic Celtic Cross. In the vicinity are the Writer's and Custom's House Squares, which host street performances, food carnivals, and theatrical events.
You'll also see small treasures that make great photos, such as the Sheep on the Road, a bronze lifesize sculpture of a forlorn shepherd and six sheep finished in 1991, and the the Big Fish, a 10 meter (33 ft) long ceramic tiled fish sculpture looking out over the Lagan River. It also acts as storage for a time capsule.
On this half day excursion, you will be able to ride into areas where other modes of transport could not attempt to enter. This allows you to see the real Belfast and get away from the typical tourist sites. The sites expose their tales of both the best and worst of times.
Of course, one is not expected to pedal for the entire time. A 20 minute coffee break will be included during your tour.
After a relaxing ride through the City of the River's Mouth, you will return to your port feeling both free and invigorated. Book this Belfast bike tour today for a rejuvenating Ireland excursion.

Had trouble finding our guide at the port but once we met up it was very enjoyable. There was only 4 of us which was nice. Easy pace and perfect amount of breaks. Lots of sights and information. Would recommend.

Our guide was terrific and very knowledgeable. The tour was interesting and fun too! Biking is very popular there so getting around the city and outskirts was no problem. Definitely would recommend this.

We had a fantastic time, saw the many faces of Belfast (scenic, historical, political, artistic) and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We were in a group of eight riders, from novice to experienced. The pace was moderate with lots of stops to chat about the significance of what we were seeing. I would recommend this experience to young and old alike.
