Eagle Quest Biking and Kayaking - Haines

This is a wonderful combination of kayaking and bicycling in the Alaskan outdoors. Ride on the Fast Ferry between Skagway and Haines (included in the tour price) where you'll see glorious mountains, great waterfalls and possibly wildlife along the shore.

Upon arrival in Haines, you will go to the local shop where your guide will fit you to a bike before setting off along the flat road that follows the steep-walled fjord to the mouth of the Chilkoot River. You then bike along the river through Chilkoot State Park to the edge of a glacier-fed lake. Total distance for biking is approximately 9 miles.

Along the route, you will make stops to view eagles and other wildlife, with possible sightings of brown bears feeding on salmon. At the lake, you exchange your bicycle for a sea kayak. Your guide outfits you with gear and gives you a paddling orientation. Then, you silently glide along the shores of the emerald lake for approximately one hour. At the end of your kayaking, you will be driven back to Haines to catch the ferry.

Please Note: Bike, helmet, gloves, kayak, life jacket, and paddle will be provided. Tour operates in all kinds of weather but within safety limits.
