Best of Kinderdijk Windmills
Visit the world famous windmills of Kinderdijk via a riverboat cruise. Your Kinderdijk tour begins in Rotterdam, the "Gateway to Europe," and ventures down the Nieuwe Maas distributary and the Lek River, ending in Kinderdijk. During your tour from Rotterdam, your guide will point out the many sights, including the Rotterdam skyline and many beautiful bridges. Once in Kinderdijk, you will disembark and will have about one and a half hours to visit the area on your own and learn the history of the region.
Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this system of 19 windmills is the largest collection of old windmills in the Netherlands, dating back to 1740. These windmills played a vital role in preventing flooding in this area. They remain functional, although not currently in operation. So don't miss out on this opportunity to admire the beauty of the Kinderdijk Windmills on this unforgettable leisurely cruise along the Lek River.
Please Note: Those interested can purchase tickets to enter one of the windmills for approximately 6.50 EUR per person.

The trip to the windmills was a wonderful boat ride which went up the river and give you great sights of Holland. Once we got there it was a long walk to see the windmills, but it was well worth it.

This was a great tour! It helped that we had the perfect weather for the river cruise and the walking trail along all the windmills. It was an easy tour to locate the boat, relax and enjoy the scenery and the walk amongst the windmills.

Once we found the location to meet the tour boat, the tour was a lot of fun. Trouble was, we didn't know we were looking for a boat. Ran into another couple from the ship who were also looking for the boat. Need more direction in that regard. Cute little boat on the river. Once we walked from the drop off point to the windmills, there could have been more time at the windmills...felt rushed. Loved what we saw.
