Catamaran Sail and Snorkel at Tulum
Catamaran Sail and Snorkel at Tulum
Tulum sightseeing, sailing and snorkeling, all in one fabulous Tulum Tour!
After meeting your guide on the pier, you will board your air-conditioned transportation for the 20-minute drive to Puerto Aventuras, where your catamaran waits.
Step aboard your fully equipped CAT and prepare for a day of unforgettable fun. You will sail along the Mayan Riviera for approximately 2 1/2 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful blue water, soak up the sun, or make new friends. There is also shaded deck space.
Around noon, you will be treated to a view not seen by most cruise guests--Tulum from the water. You will put on your included snorkel gear and have 40 minutes of snorkeling over the coral in search of the colorful marine life.
Back on board the CAT, you will have a boxed lunch before heading ashore to the ruins.
Hitting the beach, you will follow a path up to the ruins sitting on the cliff above. You will spend the next hour with your guide, who will discuss the culture as it was during the times of Tulum while you examine the inscriptions and murals on the temples that describe the decoration, rich iconography and its meaning to the Mayan. You will visit the outside of the castle, the Temple of the Frescos, the Temple of the Descending God, the House of the Chultun and the House of the Columns.
You will then return to the catamaran and sail back to Puerto Aventuras. From here you will be returned to the pier.
Guests on ships docked in Calica have the option to be dropped off in Playa Del Carmen after the tour for sightseeing and shopping. Guests doing this must arrange and pay for their own transportation back to the pier in Calica, approximately 10-15 minutes from Playa Del Carmen.
Note: Guests wishing to use a video camera at the ruins need to pay a $5 US fee at the main gate to Tulum. No tripods or professional video equipment are permitted.
