Classic Beach Day
The largest of the English-speaking Leeward Islands, Antigua is about 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, encompassing 108 square miles, it is mostly low lying with some volcanic areas.
There are 365 beaches on Antigua, one for each day of the year. The great majority rest inside the calm, protected waters of the island's Caribbean side. Located at Fryes Point on the west coast, Fryes Beach features powder white sand and affords great views of Montserrat on exceptionally clear days. This is one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches on Antigua.
Are you tempted yet? At the beach you can get active (or not) and participate in various water sports, go horseback riding, go on a hike or play on water slides. You can swim or relax in the calm, crystal clear water or take a short boat ride out to gorgeous Cades Reef for snorkeling (at your own expense). Beach chairs and shared umbrella are also included. Lunch and a non-alcoholic welcome drink are included.
Meanwhile, back on the beach, Mamma Nancy entertains you with poetry and other fun cultural activities. Be entertained with island music on steel pan or from a reggae band nearby, before your beach serenity concludes.
Soak up this beach day and take picture after picture to record the memories of this special day.
Please Note: Many different activities are available to you while at the beach at your own expense, make sure to bring cash with you if you plan to take part in any of the activities.

This excursion was the best we have been on. We were picked up by chef Dwayne and shown around a little before being brought to fryes beach. There we met Vaughn and lorenzo. They were in the tiki bar right on the beach. The beach there was fantastic. Only 4 other people there. Like having your own private beach. Chef Dwayne cooked up meals for everyone while we swam and hot to know Vaughn and lorenzo. Great people. Really made us feel welcome. Later chef Dwayne took us back to the ship. Sorry the day ended, but if we go back we're going back. Oh And I forgot they had music with Jackie singing songs. This is what you think of when you take an excursion for down home island life. Thanks for everything

We enjoyed this day and were very glad we chose to go through Shore Group Excursions rather than the cruise ship. There were only 4 of us and it was a pleasure and a really great time. They were waiting for us when we arrived and got back to ship in plenty of time.

This beach is just beautiful, there was only 6 of this on the whole beach. We had lounges and umbrellas. The chicken was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Our driver was a very knowledgeable guide on the island trip and a great chef, He met us up promptly at the pick up point and drove us around the island to Big Friars Beach. The beach was secluded and only had about 15 visitors including us. Brilliant white sand and clear sea water, what more can you ask for. We had lounge chairs and umbrellas provided for us. Our driver was also the chef preparing our buffet lunch. He had marinated chicken cooked on charcoal grill, salad, rice & beans, veggies and rum punch for us. It was all delicious. Aftr lunch we had a scenic drive to our ship. We definitely recommend this excursion.
