Colonial Antigua & Santa Teresita Hot Springs
Walk through one of the most well-preserved cities in Latin America and then take a dip inside Santa Teresita Hot Spring on this Antigua tour. Each year, tourists come from all over the world to witness firsthand the incredible beauty of Antigua Guatemala.
On this Antigua walking tour, you'll spend about 1.5 hours admiring the Spanish Colonial style that's evident throughout the city's structures. Houses, squares and churches - and more - all reflect this influence. Your tour takes you to major attractions like La Merced Church and Santa Catalina Arch before taking you to the renowned Santa Teresita Hot Springs.
The Santa Teresita Hot Springs are located by Pacaya Volcano and feature 12 thermal pools, as well as steam baths and hydrotherapy baths. The tour includes an introduction to the benefits of a thermal circuit, including muscle relaxation and improved blood circulation. The thermal circuit entails immersing your body in thermal pools of varying temperatures for short amounts of time. You will be able to try the thermal circuit for yourself as a relaxing finish to your Antigua tour. Before returning to Puerto Quetzal to end your trip, you will make a quick stop for lunch.
Please Note: Due to damage to the main road from the recent eruption of the Fuego volcano, this tour is not available in September. The road is scheduled to reopen in October.

Our guide was very knowledgeable. On the ride to Antigua, he shared lots of information and answered many questions. We had an excellent driver in our air conditioned van. I would have liked to spend a little more time in Antigua, but cruise schedules limit flexibility. Getting us back to the ship on time was clearly a priority. Lunch at the hot springs was delicious. But because of the time schedule, they asked us to change into swimsuits and come to lunch. We were seated in swimwear so I would suggest bringing a cover. The food was delicious! As our visit was on Sunday, no alcohol could be served. The spa was beautiful but a bit crowded.

The bus ride to Antigua was pretty amazing as we circled an active volcano to Antigua; the locals were pretty blase, but we were glued to the windows. Antigua was interesting in the historical sense, but the Hot Springs were a delight! While dipping into pools of various temperatures, you gaze upon the volcanic mountains while enjoying fruit drinks! Excellent!

We had a problem finding the start point due to the ship docking in the port area and not the cruise dock due to it being damaged by a previous ship. When we eventually got on the right shuttle and found the guide we were an hour late. He had taken the trouble to wait for us. The guide was a charming, knowledgeble and friendly and gave us a great trip. The great thing about these tours is that they are small groups. I could not find any fault with this tour.
