The Auckland Country Tour
The Auckland Country Tour
See the best of Auckland on this fantastic day tour.
Set off through some of Auckland's suburbs, where you can see typical Auckland housing developments, heading North to the township of Warkworth. After approximately 45 minutes, you'll arrive at the Honey Centre, where you can try different types of honey, including New Zealand's most famous Manuka Honey. There aren't too many places in Auckland where you can do this honey-tasting and have such a range of honey products on offer, so this is a stop that cannot be missed. Then enjoy wine tasting at one of the many award-winning wineries in the area, before stopping for an included lunch.
After lunch, get ready for the highlight of the tour: an interactive sheep show! You will learn first hand about New Zealand's sheep farming in a fascinating and entertaining one hour presentation. This live demonstration begins with the sheepdogs rounding up and bringing in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. The experienced presenters will provide interesting narration throughout the show. Get a close-up view of all the action, and take the opportunity to help out when its time to feed the lambs! Shows are held in the fully seated barn, and are suitable for all ages. After the show, you can take a stroll through the gift shop for souvenirs.
With so much to do in the wonderful city of Auckland, this amazing day tour will introduce you to new experiences, giving you a day of fun and exploration of the countryside north of Auckland.

The first several hours of the tour were at Sheep World, where we saw an excellent sheep shearing demo, plus we fed the baby sheep with bottles. The Sheep World visit also included feed for us to feed the numerous farm animals which was a lot of fun. The day also included wine tasting at a vineyard, countryside sightseeing, and a visit to the Honey Center store. This tour was well worth it!!

We were picked up at the hotel and taken on a road trip all the way to the coast at the Tasman sea, as suggested by the name of the tour. We were a very small group and since we were not in a rush we spent the entire day enjoying stops at a winery and vineyard; a strawberry farm; a store that sold NZ made souvenirs; a garnet colony at the coast and finally, a visit to the tour owner's farm. The opened their home to us and offered tea and pavlova; very hospitable. The tour was informative, beautiful, and gave us a glimpse of life in rural NZ that we wouldn't have gotten anywhere else.
