Here's a Cozumel excursion with EVERYTHING: sightseeing, swimming, snorkeling and sampling local Mexican cuisine.
After meeting your tour guide, you will be matched up in groups of four and assigned a manual drive vehicle (Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Patriot - four guests per Jeep) and set out following the lead vehicle. As you drive by Cozumel Town, you will get an insight into the local life.
Your Cozumel tour will continue with a drive around the island on a scenic, paved road full of breathtaking views. Your professional guide will give you interesting information during the different stops, when guests can trade off driving if they choose.
You will access the Punta Sur State Refuge via a long, sandy road, which welcomes you to this unique ecological reserve. You will visit El Caracol, a small ancient Mayan ruin, once used as a weather alarm. You will also see the Columbia Lagoon, a magnificent and incredible ecosystem that feeds and provides balance to the reef formations. Watch for saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment, and visit an observation tower that overlooks the lagoon.
You will then head to the beach to enjoy the year-round crystal-clear waters. Follow the lead vehicle along sand paths to reach Punta Sur Bay, where you will have the option to swim or snorkel. The snorkeling is along the protected and shallow reef, 100 yards off the beach. It is full of colorful tropical fish and incredible sea life. Guests not up to the swim to the reef can walk, swim or just relax on the beach. Don't worry about your belongings, beach lockers are available for $5 US.
After your beach stop, it's back to the Jeeps and a 10-minute drive to visit the Navigation Museum inside the Punta Celarain lighthouse.
You will start the drive back towards town, but your Cozumel Jeep and Beach tour is NOT OVER. You will make a quick stop at an exclusive beach resort to enjoy a delicious late-afternoon Mexican lunch of chicken, beef or fish fajitas! Sodas, beer and mixed drinks are available for purchase. Guests wishing to remain longer may do so and will be responsible for their own transportation back to the pier. Taxi from downtown to the meeting point is approximately $3 US per person.
Went on Jeep tour with my 70+ yr old Mom and 2 sisters. We had a blast! Went to sml Ruin- our Guide Felipe made it very interesting with the history. Next salt water alligator - 1 swam over to the boardwalk. (Never felt at risk) saw 2 iguana's, climbed lighthouse for best view & shopping. then went to amazing beach- snorkeling avail, chose swimming & found nice shells waist deep Lunch ok service excellent - no one messed with our stuff but there are locker's available to rent as well. Senic drive to a brief explanation by Roberto of how Tequila is made with free Margarita & tequila tasting various quality and flavors ... Uno Mas! No prob getting to the ship on time w/ shopping on our way back. (short walk for Carnival's port). This is a great experience for all ages if you want a variety of activity in a day trip. All the employees where welcoming and relaxed making the day enjoyable. Only draw back is the Jeeps are not new and fancy but hey just more adventure! haha

I am really glad that I chose this package for going around the island when our ship was docked at Cozumel. Felipe and his assistant were perfect hosts and tour guides. They took us to the best spots on the island for snorkeling, served the best food and tequila and were really courteous and funny. We were a family of 4 and for my parents this excursion was one of the best parts about our trip. The jeep we were given was in a run-down condition but it was still very comfortable and didn't give us any trouble. All in all, we highly recommend it!!
Our tour guide was awesome, and had a TON of knowledge on EVERYTHING!!! The national park was great and fun to learn about... Snorkeling was my absolute favorite, I get nervous in the ocean but our tour guide helped me and made me feel very comfortable and was amazing at taking us to different locations so we could see more fish and such... We even seen a huge baracuda from afar which was awesome. The lunch provided was yummy and the wait staff was very nice, the beach was clean and gorgeous... I would SO recommend this to anyone going to Cozumel. The only negative was the couple in our group rented the dune buggy instead of the Jeep (You have the option to chose and we chose the jeep) they said it was uncomfortable and hard to drive. So, just in case I would chose the jeep, coverage from the sun or rain and easy to drive...
A fun experience and different. The only real issue is the ship had clocks turned back one hour which matched the time on shore, so we were an hour late before we even docked. We still made our way to the excursion point and ran into another couple from the ship doing the same thing. The company was gracious and put a Jeep tour together for just the 5 of us. It turned out awesome with just two jeeps following the guides in a third vehicle. We snorkeled under supervision which is ok but not the best for our liking, but safety first! The lunch was good but all of us were a little hesitant eating the veggies and fish tacos. We figured your company would have checked this out so we were ok. We all thought the tequila place was over priced and very touristy. Your choice to purchase or not. Don’t be alarmed if the gages don’t work in your Jeep all part of the adventure! We would do this again the guides made it fun.... please adjust your time of excursion!

We loved our tour guides. They were very attentive; on every stop they made sure we had water to drink. They even helped some of us get in and out of the jeeps by putting their cooler on the floor. They were knowledgeable on every stop we made. At the beach they made sure those that wanted to snorkel were properly informed about the reef and what was going to happen. They were courteous and respectful and we feel they gave great information about the land around us.
