Cozumel Jeep and Beach Adventure
Cozumel Jeep & Beach Adventure Excursion
Here's a Cozumel excursion with EVERYTHING: sightseeing, swimming, snorkeling and sampling local Mexican cuisine.
After meeting your tour guide, you will be matched up in groups of four and assigned a manual drive vehicle (Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Patriot - four guests per Jeep) and set out following the lead vehicle. As you drive by Cozumel Town, you will get an insight into the local life.
Your Cozumel tour will continue with a drive around the island on a scenic, paved road full of breathtaking views. Your professional guide will give you interesting information during the different stops, when guests can trade off driving if they choose.
You will access the Punta Sur State Refuge via a long, sandy road, which welcomes you to this unique ecological reserve. You will visit El Caracol, a small ancient Mayan ruin, once used as a weather alarm. You will also see the Columbia Lagoon, a magnificent and incredible ecosystem that feeds and provides balance to the reef formations. Watch for saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment, and visit an observation tower that overlooks the lagoon.
You will then head to the beach to enjoy the year-round crystal-clear waters. Follow the lead vehicle along sand paths to reach Punta Sur Bay, where you will have the option to swim or snorkel. The snorkeling is along the protected and shallow reef, 100 yards off the beach. It is full of colorful tropical fish and incredible sea life. Guests not up to the swim to the reef can walk, swim or just relax on the beach. Don't worry about your belongings, beach lockers are available for $5 US.
After your beach stop, it's back to the Jeeps and a 10-minute drive to visit the Navigation Museum inside the Punta Celarain lighthouse.
You will start the drive back towards town, but your Cozumel Jeep and Beach tour is NOT OVER. You will make a quick stop at an exclusive beach resort to enjoy a delicious late-afternoon Mexican lunch of chicken, beef or fish fajitas! Sodas, beer and mixed drinks are available for purchase. Guests wishing to remain longer may do so and will be responsible for their own transportation back to the pier. Taxi from downtown to the meeting point is approximately $3 US per person.

Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with Filipe and Saso from Cozumel Excursions. They took us on a tour of the area, including lunch and some snorkeling time at a local beach. Would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a fun day in Cozumel.

We had a blast driving and riding in the jeeps. Enjoyed all of the stops, especially the lighthouse and National Park. The lunch at the beach was very good and the time at the beach was perfect. Very relaxing fun day.

The Cozumel Jeep and Beach Adventure is a way to see Cozumel. Jeep ride to the conservation park, was quite a ride, lol! The natural park road was bumpy with potholes, BUT PLEASE do not be discouraged, it’s worth it! You will see a lagoon look out, the vegetation is surrounded with mangroves very lush and green and across the road a Mayan lighthouse ruin. Our guide described the history of the ruin, then you will see an actual lighthouse. To the beach for a Mexican (had the fish taco) lunch, snorkeling, it was amazing - saw colourful fish, the deeper end lobster, more beautiful colourful fish. After relaxing on the beach, stopped at a tequila farm where they grew agave and processed tequila. Tasted various types of tequila. Heading back drove through the coast, towards the city, you could see how the people lived, their means of transportation is mainly the SCOOTER, they were everywhere! What an experience - I love Cozumel!!
This excursion had a little bit of everything - jeep offroading, nature, history, culture, a beautiful beach and to wrap it all up - tequila! Phillipe was a knowledgeable guide - our family really loved our time in Cozumel on this excursion.
