Cozumel Jeep & Beach Adventure

Here's a Cozumel excursion with EVERYTHING: sightseeing, swimming, snorkeling and sampling local Mexican cuisine.

After meeting your tour guide, you will be matched up in groups of four and assigned a manual drive vehicle (Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Patriot - four guests per Jeep) and set out following the lead vehicle. As you drive by Cozumel Town, you will get an insight into the local life.

Your excursion in Cozumel will continue with a drive around the island on a scenic, paved road full of breathtaking views. Your professional guide will provide you interesting information during the different stops, when guests can trade off driving if they choose.

You will access the Punta Sur State Refuge via a long, sandy road, which welcomes you to this unique ecological reserve. You will visit El Caracol, a small ancient Mayan ruin, once used as a weather alarm. You will also see the Columbia Lagoon, a magnificent and incredible ecosystem that feeds and provides balance to the reef formations. Watch for saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment, and visit an observation tower that overlooks the lagoon.

You will then head to the beach to enjoy the year-round crystal-clear waters. Follow the lead vehicle along sand paths to reach Punta Sur Bay, where you will have the option to swim or snorkel. The snorkeling is along the protected and shallow reef, 100 yards off the beach. It is full of colorful tropical fish and incredible sea life. Guests not up to the swim to the reef can walk, swim or just relax on the beach. Don't worry about your belongings, beach lockers are available for $5 US.

After your beach stop, it's back to the Jeeps and a 10-minute drive to visit the Navigation Museum inside the Punta Celarain lighthouse.

You will start the drive back towards town, but your Cozumel Jeep and Beach adventure is NOT OVER. You will make a quick stop at an exclusive beach resort to enjoy a delicious late-afternoon Mexican lunch of chicken, beef or fish fajitas! Sodas, beer and mixed drinks are available for purchase. Guests wishing to remain longer may do so and will be responsible for their own transportation back to the pier. Taxi from downtown to the meeting point is approximately $3 US per person.

Had a great time on our Excursion. Our guide was really helpful. Even though we did not get to snorkel due to rain and rough water, we enjoyed eating and hanging out.

Second Time on This Tour and another 5 Stars!

This is our second time on this tour since we enjoyed it so much the first time 4 years ago. Felipe was excellent as he was also our tour guide on the first one! The jeeps are old and worn out which is my only complaint.Punta Sur was just as I remembered it, quiet, beautiful, and breathtaking.Lighthouse views was fantastic. The beach was more than perfect, we had high winds all day in Cozumel from when we arrived to when we left. I asked the owner when he was putting our wrist bands on that I wanted to snorkel so bad and asked how the winds were at the beach we were going to, he showed me a picture and said no worries, it's on south side, no winds. He was spot on! We saw multiple fish around the reefs, a 3 feet stingray which caught me by surprise laying on the bottom. The sand was soft. The food was good. Tequila tour was memorable, we had the best tour guide.Tequila tastings were free, buying bottles were a bit pricey but hey it's authentic Mexican Tequila!.Felipe was fantastic!

Max coverage on a day

When we were looking for a shore excursion for our first cruise, we found the jeep adventure providing a little bit of everything for all of us in our family. Yes in deed it met our expectations and we enjoyed the fact we were able to drive into the island. This tour is only for people who wants loves quantity over qualtiy. The mayan ruins were a joke just a 6 foot wall and the snorkeling was done near the shore with very little wild animals. We enjoyed the bit of everything and cudos to our tour cordinator Carlos was excellent and his hospitality is great be it spotting a crocodile in the lagoon to serving chilled water after the climb in light house or explaining the 6 feet wall and make us imagine how Mayan's used it.
