Cu Chi Tunnel Exploration

On the pleasant drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, known during the Vietnam war time as the Iron Triangle, you'll encounter a rubber plantation and authentic rice paddies in the countryside. This Ho Chi Minh tour has plenty in store for you, at a low price.

The vast Cu Chi Tunnels (155 miles long) weaved its way under villages while serving as a military base for the Viet Cong. Amazingly, a large U.S. military base (the 25th Infantry) was located above the tunnels. Prior to descending into the tunnels, you'll see a short video which summarizes the installation's use.

Then you'll explore the maze of tunnels, which have been widened for better viewing. There are meeting rooms, medical areas, kitchens, and storerooms for weapons. Also on display are multiple mantraps.

Above ground are the remains of an American tank, plus numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. Naturally, there's a way to commemorate your visit at the souvenir shop.

Following a local lunch in the nearby city of Saigon, if time permits, you'll have the opportunity to visit Ben Thanh market. Shop and witness the high pace of people handling business in this melodious marketplace.

Throughout this unique Saigon tour, your knowledgeable guide will elaborate on the many places you see here in "The Pearl of the Far East."

Please Note: Western-style food is available upon request at the time of booking for an additional fee to be paid on the day of your tour (not included, approximately $10 US). Passengers will be granted a Vietnam visa by the cruise line. Some of the cruise lines include the visa within the cruise package. However, if a visa was not included in your cruise package, you may purchase one directly onboard. The cost can be up to $50 US per person, depending on the cruise line.

Great small group excursion
March 18, 2017
Hello, our tour of Cu Chi tunnels was great. Our tour guide and driver were waiting for us at the cruise dock. There were 7 of us, which meant we could do more at the site than a large bus group. The drive was farther than we had thought, as the tunnels are past Saigon. So lots of time in the van, but it was comfortable. We stopped at a lacquer place to use the facilities, some of our group bought some lovely art. The tunnels themselves are very interesting. We found the tunnel you can go through (20 metres) very small and scary. Having said that, the two 70 year old women in our group did complete the trek. My husband shot an AK47, which was quite fun. Overall a great trip, makes you realize and feel what it might have been like during the Vietnam war.
