Deluxe Rotorua Geothermal Wonders with Kiwi Orchard and Redwood Forest

No trip to Rotorua would be complete without seeing and experiencing the area's geothermal wonders, and this full-day tour does not disappoint!

Your adventure begins as soon you are picked up outside the port gates and whisked away in a comfortable minivan on a sight-seeing drive of Mount Maunganui. Admire the beautiful coastline and mountain ringed with an abundance of coffee shops, cafes, and small boutiques.

From there you will journey through the picturesque, lush countryside to Te Whakarewarewa Valley (the geothermal valley). This area is home to the Tuhourangi Ngati Wahiao people who have hosted visitors from around the world since the 1800s.

While here, get up close and personal with the geothermal wonders, including boiling mud-pools, steam vents, and the world famous Pohutu geyser, along with three other geysers on the geyser terrace. Your private and local Maori guide is very knowledgeable and will share how the people of this village use the geothermal activity in their everyday life. Your group is kept small, making for a more intimate and one-on-one experience and allowing for your time to run smoothly and easy. After your guided tour, you will be treated to a cultural performance with Waiata (or songs) of history, Patere (rhythmic chants), stick games, poi dancing, and the world-famous HAKA war challenge. This valley and cultural immersion is truly an experience like no other.

After departing the Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley you will make your way around Rotorua for sightseeing including the Government Gardens, a Tudor-style museum, Blue Baths and Rachel's Spring.

While in Rotorua you will stop at a redwood forest to experience these peaceful giants while learning about the silver fern, the symbol of New Zealand. Once you depart Rotorua you will stop at a working kiwi orchard to learn the true origins of this delectable fruit and taste different varietals before your scenic return trip back to port.

This 6-hour, small group kiwi excursion takes you to these New Zealand gems that you might not otherwise have access to or the opportunity to go to yourself. Reserve your spot on this special tour today.

Please Note: Lunch is no longer included. There will be time in the day for the guest's to purchase snacks/lunch.
