Discover Volcano Country
Discover how the powerful forces of nature have shaped the people and landscape of this dynamic region, Hawaii's largest land district.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is on Hawaii Island (the Big Island). At its heart are the Kilauea and Mauna Loa active volcanoes. The Crater Rim Drive passes steam vents and the Jaggar Museum, which features volcanology exhibits and a viewpoint overlooking Halema'uma'u Crater. Thick ferns mark the entrance to the Thurston Lava Tube (Nahuku). The Chain of Craters Road weaves over lava and trails crisscross the park.
The perfect blend of nature and culture is led by an expert guide. This tour reveals what it's like to live on two active volcanoes.
Discover all the "must see" spots within the Park, including the Thurston Lava Tube, the Hawaii Volcano Observatory, and the Halemaumau Crater.
Sample and shop for award-winning farm fresh coffee at a local coffee farm. Walk across a crystal-fine black sand beach as you search for basking sea turtles at Punaluu. Immerse yourself in stories of Hawaiian legends and mythology, with a focus on Pele, Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightning, wind, and volcanoes. Explore a lava tube and discover the mysteries of how these tunnels are formed. You won't want to miss this exciting tour of Volcano Country!
PLEASE NOTE: Please be assured that both Hilo and Kona remain largely unaffected by the current eruption of Kilauea volcano and that it is still safe to travel to the Big Island of Hawaii (Hawaii Island). The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is currently closed, however, this tour will continue to operate with a modified itinerary until the park has reopened.

We were on the Norwegian cruise of the Hawaiian Islands and this excursion was the second of our trip. It was Tuesday, Feb. 28. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Frank was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He was engaging and informative. We were able to see a lot that day and enjoyed every minute. We would definitely take another tour through that company and specifically ask for tours with Frank.
