Tour Details

Explore Auckland's top attractions on your own time frame with a 48-hour bus pass that includes a free return Devonport ferry ticket.

Your ticket offers you access to both the Red and Blue routes with double-decker buses departing regularly on a seasonal schedule. From October 01st thru April 20th departures occur every 20 minutes from all stops; May 01st through September 30th departures occur every 30 minutes from all stops.

The two different bus routes cover top attractions catering to nature lovers and history buffs such as, Mt Eden (dominated by a volcanic peak also known as Maungawhau, with hiking and jogging trails leading to views over the Hauraki Gul), Sky Tower (a telecommunications and observation tower), Te Wao Nui -- The Living Realm at Auckland Zoo (six zones that reflect the distinctly different landscapes of New Zealand), Auckland Museum (one of New Zealand's most famous museums and war memorials), Bastion Point (site of protests by Maori against forced land alienation by pākehā (white New Zealanders) in the late 1970s), Parnell Rose Gardens (a beautifully kept rose garden in the district of Parnell), Mt Eden Gardens (5.5 acre award-winning garden on the side of Mt Eden; collections include perennials, vireyas, camellias, bromeliads, and native New Zealand plants), and many more.

Wi-Fi is available while onboard the yellow double-decker branded buses. Take a few minutes to connect with family and friends or download your amazing photos to your social media sites.

Along with the top attractions, the bus regularly stops at the following sites each offering their unique bit of awesomeness: Sea Life Kelly Tarlton's (sea life aquarium), Bastion Point Lookout (offering scenic views of downtown Auckland), Holy Trinity Cathedral (Anglican place of worship), Wintergardens (a Victorian-style glasshouse acting as an atrium), Westfield St. Luke's (one of the big three shopping centers in the western suburbs of Auckland), MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology), Queen Street (major commercial thoroughfare in Auckland), and Sky City (casino and event center).

The freedom to access each of these locations is easy and straightforward with the Auckland Explorer Bus, 48-hour ticket. Don't wait a minute longer. Buy your tickets today and have the essential sites of Auckland at your fingertips.

Please Note: There are two bus routes (Red Tour and Blue Tour). Each route takes approximately 1 hour to complete non-stop.

Good Overview of the City
February 17, 2020
We were glad to have chosen the 2 day pass as we wanted to see both bus routes and then decide what we wanted to visit. Since there is about an 8-9 hr window for the buses that run, it is important to decide quickly and go early if you want to do both bus lines. By choosing 2 days, we could spread out the time a little and visit a couple of places at leisure rather than rushing through just so we didn't miss the last bus run.
