Take our Dunn's River Falls and Beach Horseback Riding Tour and two things are certain: you'll have the time of your life, and you'll never want to return to civilization!
After being picked up at the pier, you will drive to the corral approximately 40 minutes away. Saddle up and set out with your trained tour guide for a scenic countryside trail ride through wooded areas, where the Taino Indians used to hunt for food. Learn about the culture of these first islanders - their beliefs, habits and existence--before Columbus landed and the island was colonized under the Spanish flag.
Ride through a natural wetland, shaded by almond and coconut trees, and see the excavations carried out by archaeologists, keen to uncover the deep-rooted history of this area.
On arrival at a stretch of deserted beach, you will strip down to your bathing suits, while the saddles are removed from the horses. You will then set out on a bareback horse ride experience in the Caribbean Sea, an experience not to be missed. Total time with the horses is approximately 90 minutes. Time in the water is approximately 10-15 minutes.
The return ride takes you along the deserted beach, where herons and other water birds fish in the shallow waters; through the mangroves, which hide the remains of an 18th- century warehouse; and by an ancient waterwheel that powered the old sugar mill on this former sugar plantation.
You will then drive to Dunn's River Falls. The falls drop in a cascade (or steps) from a height of 600 feet down to sea level. They are constantly fed by beautiful, crystal-clear water running down from the nearby mountains and rainforest. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to make the entire climb. There are places along the way to slide down into pools of water, take a swim and climb again. There are local "guides" at the falls who will lead you up. These guides are separate from your Falmouth port tour and will expect a gratuity when you reach the top.
Please Note: Although there are changing facilities at the falls, we suggest wearing your swimming suit under comfortable beach clothing. Water shoes can be rented at the falls if you do not have sneakers or your own water shoes. Flip flops are not recommended. Climbing the falls is not recommended to guests with back or hip/knee concerns.
The tour guides were so knowledgable and so nice. They answered all of our questions. We had so much fun in the ocean with the horses. It was defiantly a once in a lifetime experience! Dunns river falls was so much fun. Climbing up the waterfall hand in hand with your group was exhilarating !!
Ours guides were the best that you could ever want!
We loved the experience, it was truly a thrill of a lifetime!

This experience is not to be missed. My husband and I still talk about the horseback riding (you actually ride the swimming horses in the water, not just a ride along the shore!). It was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience! The falls were beautiful as well - a lot of fun! The guides and drivers were all great, and the drivers were VERY informative about their country. We really appreciated them!

Make sure you bring a water proof camera to capture the fun! No need to wear long pants for the horseback riding, you can just use a towel to protect your legs. The ride on land is kind of short but the ride in the ocean was unique and fun. Climbing the water fall was a lot of fun, be prepared to be wet! The only annoying thing was that they tried to make us all hold hands a bunch which made climbing awkward at times. There were a lot of groups though so I'm sure it was to keep us all together. But the guides do a good job of helping you take photos so you won't only have close up selfies.
