This shore excursion was an adventure! We drove several miles into the hills to get to the site. There was only one other couple with us. There may be more people depending on how many folks book this tour. Our driver told us a lot of history of the area and pointed out several interesting spots. He arranged for us to sample local fruit picked directly from the trees. When we arrived, we walked down to the river area and got a nice history lesson about the sugar cane plantation that was located there. We were shown the ruins of the water wheel house, the boiling house and the trash house. We were pampered with a lower leg lime mud treatment, food tasting and drank coconut milk out of a coconut with bamboo straws. We were also shown different types of trees and shown how bananas are harvested and how the new plant grows back. Overall a wonderful time and a great experience. I highly recommend this shore excursion.

Great excursion if you want to relax and get exposed to Jamaica history. The trip started out slow, find the bus, then waiting for all passengers. Drive to plantation, then a guide to give us a walking tour of the plantation, its fruit trees and flowers. Then a lunch of Jamaican food & Fresh coconut water all while getting a foot and leg treatment. then we ended with a rum demo and tasting. One family went swimming, another group went on mountain bike rides. When I go back, I want to go there again.
Dancer showed us a great time. He showed us the plantation and river, took us swimming, gave a foot massage, picked us a coconut and much more. He went out of his way to make our excursion fun and relaxing as well as taught us about the area in the past and now. Loved it! The bus driver did a great job taking us there and back except when he took us to a "friend's" place to shop. We did not like that.
it was a long drive on mostly unpaved road to the place.
