Whistler Mountains and Floatplane Adventure

This exciting, nature-filled day will have you soaring high above the Gulf Islands, Coast Mountains and shoreline aboard your 45-minute seaplane flight from Vancouver's Coal Harbour to Whistler's Green Lake, to begin this amazing day of adventure. The Coast Mountains offer some of the most spectacular wilderness scenery in the world. During your approximately 35-minute flight, you will have a stereo headset to listen to your pilot's knowledgeable commentary regarding the fascinating history and geology of this amazing area.

Touch down at Whistler's Green Lake and explore the many shops and restaurants of Whistler Village. Experience one of the many activities and attractions including the Aboriginal Cultural Museum where you can learn about Canada's First Nations People. Skiiing, biking, hiking, volcanoes, glaciers, high alpine lakes and forests, world-class restaurants and amenities are what draw people here. Enjoy four hours here on your own, to grab a bite to eat and explore this mountain ski village.

The amazing sights continue as you head back from Whistler Valley through the pastoral growing town of Squamish. The road follows the Cheakmus river, plunging low into a river canyon carved by eons of melted water, and cresting high above the river and offering views of ice blue glaciers on the peaks of the Tantalus mountains. Soak in views of 7,000-foot mountains, the 3rd highest waterfall in British Colombia, and Stawamus Chief, the 2nd largest granite monolith in the world. See how the northern hemisphere's most southern fjord stretches out, with a backdrop of forested islands and snow-capped peaks, and the road winds its way down the side of the Coastal Mountains rising from the ocean depths. Head back into the city via the Lion Gate's Bridge and Stanley Park, enjoying beautiful harbor and bay views.

Loved this! I took a floatplane from downtown to Whistler. It was about 35 minutes and then I had all day in Whistler. It was a great day at Whistler- sunny and warm. I did the sky walk tour (took a lot of nerve!) and explored the mountain. The bus ride back was great - we made several scenic stops along the way. It is a long day and you'll definitely be tired at the end of the day. Great tour - recommend!
