Florence and Pisa on Your Own
The day long journey of adventure begins as you leave the port at La Spezia for a scenic, comfortable 2 hour ride to Florence, widely considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Once you have arrived, admire the terracotta-tiled dome of the Duomo cathedral and pop into the shops on the medieval Ponte Vecchio stone bridge. Art lovers will swoon at the chance to see such masterpieces as Michelangelo's David, da Vinci's Annunciation and Botticelli's The Birth of Venus. Enjoy approximately 3 and a half hours of free time in this lovely Renaissance Italian city.
Continue to the city of Pisa, an approximately 70 minute ride from Florence, where you will find the iconic Leaning Tower as well as the famed Piazza dei Cavalieri which was once used as the headquarters of the Knights of Saint Stephen. While here be sure to eat some cecina, a delicious gluten-free bread made of chickpea flour, water, oil and spices. You'll have about 1 hour of free time to admire the sights in Pisa before making your way back to La Spezia, about 45 minutes away.
Throughout the day your tour assistant will share suggestions with you while on the bus as you make your way to each city. You will also receive a detailed map with notes about the monuments.
This all-day tour is perfect for those who want to see the sights independently yet don't have the time or want the stress of researching and planning. Sign up now and get ready to experience the classic cities of Florence and Pisa at your leisure and make memories of a lifetime.

Everything was wonderful! It was our first tour experience in Europe and so glad that we booked our day this way. Very professional and helpful. Clean and comfortable bus. Thank you for such an amazing day.
We chose this type of tour because we didn’t have a lot of time in port but wanted to see the sites. With doing it on our own we were able to move at our own pace and not be held up with a large group. We researched the sites first so we knew what we wanted to see and where they were. As with any excursion or vacation there is never enough time to see everything, that’s why you do a second vacation and detail it to the sites and areas you want to spend more time in. Our travel guides on the bus were good and informative ahead of our scheduled drop offs and the bus ride wasn’t bad.
Lots of walking, the tour sets you up to see all the main points in Florence and you do it on your own , if you go fast you can see it all. The guide gets you to the tower vicinity in Pisa then you go on your own again. Be on alert for annoying hawkers and pick pockets, our guide chased a couple of pic pockets away from our group.
