Beautiful Fremantle sits at the mouth of the Swan River, serving as Perth's main port. The tram stop at Fishing Boat Harbor provides access to a bevy of alfresco seafood restaurants, the Shipwrecks Galleries Museum, and the original Roundhouse, where convicts were housed in the 1800s.
The following stop is Town Hall. Renowned for its preservation of 19th century buildings, Fremantle's quaint Cappuccino Strip and art galleries can be found here.
Then there's the Victoria Quay stop. Nearby is the Maritime Museum and bountiful E Shed Markets. Thereafter is central Rail Station, where the tram comes to rest a convenient 150 feet away.
Fremantle Prison is another notable highlight on your Perth tour. It is one of eleven World Heritage labeled convict sites in Australia. Much of the building was actually built by the inhabitant prisoners.

This hop-on bus had quite good seats and plenty of leg room. The driver did the commentary, which meant that it was immediate and relevant to what we were seeing, as opposed to a recorded commentary. Nice tour, knowledgeable driver.
