Grand Island Speedboat and Snorkel
Grand Island Speedboat and Snorkel
Start your 6-hour scenic adventure directly from Dock Maarten Chesterfield Wharf, as you climb aboard your speedboat and make your way to Simpson Bay Bridge on the Dutch side of the island. There, you will see yachts and villas on display in the Caribbean's largest lagoon. Along the way you will enjoy unlimited beverages as you relax and take in the picturesque scenery.
Your first stop will be Marigot, capital of the French Saint-Martin, where cafes line the Marina Royale. Pass to the opposite side to see private sailing boats moored in the bay and view the historic Ft. Louis and French flag overlooking the town. It's a short cruise to Friars Bay, known for its full moon parties, and the more secluded Happy Bay.
Your captain will make a quick stop at the unbelievably white beach of Tintamarre Island for some unforgettable swimming with sea turtles in the calm, turquoise waters of the marine reserve.
Re-board your boat and head towards Pinel Island where you can sit in the shallow water with a refreshing beverage. There, enjoy a hot lunch served at a restaurant on the beautiful sun-drenched Yellow Beach. If you'd like, hike around the tiny island to explore sandy shores and isolated rock pools where crystal-clear waters are protected from pounding surf.
After approximately one hour at Pinel Island, ride to Creole Rock, located in the middle of the Bay of Grand Case. This marine reserve is the island's best-kept secret, where sea life abounds in the shallow water. After a snorkel stop for an undersea adventure, cruise around the island, passing the red rock cliffs of Bay Rouge and the mansions of Terre Basse. There, you'll have the opportunity to feed the fish in the crystal-clear waters of Long Bay while keeping an eye out for any celebrities on the golden sands of the exclusive La Samanna Resort.
Next, be sure to have your camera ready to photograph planes directly overhead as aircraft come in for a landing at nearby Princess Juliana Airport. This is the highlight of any trip to this island and the place to capture memories worthy of any social media page.
As your excursion comes to an end, you will take a short cruise back around Simpson Bay to admire some of the mega yachts before arriving back at Dock Maarten where you will enjoy a special conclusion of free ice cream upon arrival.

This was a fabulous trip - the kids favourite day on the whole cruise !! Just a short walk from the ship we found our boat which was a spotless big engined speedboat with plenty of room for all the guests. Sean & Lany (the hosts - captain & 1st mate?) were brilliant looking after everyone and being very informative as we sped between snorkel sites and seeing the sights of St Maarten. With complimentary drinks on board and a nice sandwich I found this to be excellent value for money. Highly reccomend this excursion

Captain Sean and his crew mate, Laney, were fantastic. They did everything possible to be good guides and informative experts on the St. Martin area. It was especially interesting to tour the harbor in their boat and see the many wrecks from the latest hurricane. We were taken to 2 great snorkeling spots and they were very helpful getting the older and less limber folks in and out of the water. On the way back to the cruise ship he found an area of smooth ocean and opened it up. With 3 300 hp Mercurys, it was truly exhilarating. I would not only recommend this to anyone but would do it again myself next time we're in St. Martin. Thanks Capt. Sean and Laney.
The speedboat was a very expensive, fancy speedboat. They offered complimentary water, pop, select alcoholic drinks (pretty good selection), and even sandwiches for lunch which definitely saved us money! We made several stops around the island at amazing spots (beautiful secluded beaches that you could only get to via boat, and right under an airplane as it landed, just to name a few), the views going around the island were amazing, and the 2 people on the boat leading the tour were extremely friendly. Overall, highly recommend this tour, my wife and I absolutely loved it.
