Gulf Islands Sea Kayaking Pre Cruise Hotel

Here's your chance to unwind from a day of travel and enjoy Vancouver's waters while you wait to set sail on your cruise.

Your adventure begins as you are picked up from your hotel for an exciting sea plane ride to Salt Spring Island, a popular destination in the Southern Gulf Islands. From here you will enter a comfortable, 2-seater sea kayak for a unique perspective of the island off the shoreline.

No experience? No problem! Your expert guide will be with you every step of the way to help you maneuver the boat and ensure your safety. Learn all about the wildlife and marine animals surrounding you as you soak in the memorable views. Watch for seals sunning themselves on the rocky cliffs and sea otters playing in the waters. Keep an eye out for the whales and Dall's porpoises that occasionally make an appearance.

Bird watchers will be in heaven with the many gulls and cormorants dotting the shores. This area is also a popular breeding ground for bald eagles, oystercatchers and pigeon guillemots.

Stop at a beach to enjoy a gourmet vegetarian lunch of veggie burgers, tabbouleh salad, organic chips, and homemade salsa lovingly prepared with local produce. Conclude your picnic with seasonal fruit, home baked cookies and juices.

Your tour will end with a ferry and bus ride back to Vancouver. This family friendly tour is perfect for those who love nature and like to stay active. It is suggested that you bring bottled water, sun protection plus a change of clothes and a warm sweater or jacket in case of temperature fluctuations.

Please Note: This tour is available May to September. Guests should be physically fit and able to enter and exit transportation. No wheelchair accessible available. This tour accommodates groups of up to 10 people; please keep this in mind when booking.
