Hidden Gems of Oahu and North Shore Turtle Beach

Your exciting adventure will begin with a pick-up in Waikiki from your local, knowledgeable guide who will assist you in preparation for a full day of exploration. Oahu is known for being a sightseeing paradise, with its many white sandy beaches and spectacular lookout points. Swimming and snorkeling with turtles can be the best part of the day. Make sure you have your camera and senses ready, as you'll be diving into the most incredible adventure ever!

Your first stop will be the Amelia Earhart Lookout on Diamond Head. Here, you will be swept away by the incredible southeastern coastline with Diamond Head in the backdrop. As you continue your journey, you will arrive at your second destination, Halona Blowhole.

This natural blowhole was formed thousands of years ago by molten lava. The Halona Blowhole is a lava tube that runs into the ocean, and when a wave hits, the water pressure thrusts water into the air- without a doubt, a spectacular event. Nearby, you will find Cockroach Cove, where the Honu (Green Sea Turtles) are known to rest.

A sweeping view of Oahu's southeastern shoreline is the Makapuu Point. With tall sea cliffs guarded by the lighthouse, your third destination will surround you with an azure blue ocean and a sweeping view of Oahu's southeastern shoreline.

One of the many things Hawaii is known for is its exquisite macadamia nuts and Kona coffee. On this part of your adventure, you will take a beautiful scenic drive along Oahu's coastline to a local farm. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by delicious coffee, chocolate, and macadamia nut sampling. This place is filled with delicious treats and beautifully gathered gift baskets and other souvenirs, making a great place to get gifts for ones back home or yourself.

After enhancing your taste buds, prepare to be amazed by the beauty of Chinaman's Hat and Kualoa Mountain Range. Chinaman's Hat, also known as Mokolii, is nestled right next to the Kualoa Mountain range, known for its dramatic landscape featured in the film Jurassic Park. This island has earned the nickname "Chinaman's Hat" from its resemblance to the straw hats that the Chinese immigrants wore.

By now you have taken in a tremendous amount of information and may have sensory overload; however, when it comes to lunchtime, prepare yourself for the North Shore Shrimp Stand. This stand is famous for its garlic shrimp made daily with fresh, sauteed shrimp in large pans; the North Shore Shrimp Stand does not disappoint when it comes to their shrimp delicacies. For those who are allergic to shellfish, other food options are available. Once lunch is over, you will continue to the tropical fruit stand which offers ice-cold coconut juice straight from the coconut, fresh mangos, and other tropical treats. Don't forget to bring spending money for lunch and the fruit stand.

As you begin to wind down, a change of pace from the crowded beaches of Waikiki, the infamous Sunset Beach on the Northshore offers tranquility and beauty but also offers swells of 30-40 feet which can be seen from the safe confines of the shore. For those interested in seeing green sea turtles, they come out to bask in the sun and offer visitors a rare chance to see them in person. If you would like to snorkel, gear will be provided to you at no extra cost.

To wrap up the day, a quick stop into the Dole Pineapple Plantation to purchase a few pineapple themed souvenirs for your friends and family back home will compliment your adventurous themed day.

Please Note: Snorkeling may be limited during winter months due to high surf conditions. Turtles are wildlife and there is no guarantee to see them. The itinerary of sites visited may be changed given traffic and conditions on any given day.
