The Athens and Acropolis tour will take you back in time to the glory of Classical Greece, where you will see countless historical landmarks. The Athens tour begins at the Panathinaikos Stadium, where the first modern Olympic games took place in 1896. On the bus you will pass by impressive landmarks, including the Royal Palace, the Zappion Conference and Exhibition Hall, the Greek Parliament, and much more.
When you reach the site of the Acropolis, get off the bus to begin your Acropolis tour. The Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a cultural landmark and ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens. The Acropolis was used in Classical Greece as a refugee city in case of an attack from an outside force. This area contains many historical structures and museums. These structures include the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Sanctuary of Pandion, and so many more. Walk through the Dionysos Theater to the new Acropolis museum, which holds fascinating artifacts from Greek history. Admire the Caryatids and the magnificent Metopes of the Parthenon hall. The Acropolis tour will conclude as you are taken back to the heart of Athens. The Athens City and Acropolis tour is the ideal way to experience the history of Greece and to see for yourself this amazing city's ancient glory.
As first time visitors to Athens, we loved this tour. Our guide (can't remember her name right now) spoke good English and was very passionate about her subject matter. It starts with a good bus tour of many of the cities key tourist attractions with a stop at the first modern Olympic stadium from 1892. But the highlight of the trip is the visit to the Acropolis and Parthenon -- breath-taking. Our guide did a great job explaining all the various ruins to us.The tour concludes with a guided visit to the Acropolis Museum. The tour began on time. The guide also was able to provide suggestions for lunch. The Acropolis is extremely crowded and the hike up has some uneven steps to climb but don't let that scare you off unless either of those things bothers you.

How can you not enjoy this Athens tour. Our guide was super enthusiastic. it was the right amount of walking and the museum was awesome
Wonderful excursion! Our guide was amazing- a very proud Greek who had a command of history and a wonderful way to bring it to life. She made the difference! While we could have toured the each of the archeological sights and Acropolis museum by ourselves, but we wouldn't have had near the experience without our guide. It was a great amount of time for each of the locations we toured. The guide was a wealth of information. We sadly cut our tour short and walked back to our hotel due to the poor timing of our tour the day earlier, and we didn't want to miss our cruise ship. Of our Mediterranean cruise, this guide was the best we had. We highly recommend.
