Highlights of Vung Tau
Your spirited adventure on this Vung Tau tour begins with a visit to the Jesus Statue. Vung Tao is a small port city, located on a peninsula in southern Vietnam. While Buddhism is the most prominent religion in Vietnam, Christianity thrives. Perched 550 feet high on the Nho Mount is the spectacular 100-foot high statue of Jesus, arms beautifully outstretched. This unique welcoming accompanies an amazing view of the city and shoreline.
Upon descending, your professional guide provides refreshing drinks prior to transferring you to Niet Ban Tinh Xa (Nirvana Pagoda) or the Lying Buddha Pagoda. This magnificent rose-marble Buddha is 40 feet of relaxation. Since everyone can use more luck, be sure to drum the giant bronze bell located on the upper floor.
Then, you're off to explore the White Palace, the opulent summer residence of Bao Dai, last Emperor of Vietnam. Immediately after, you'll have lunch at a local restaurant specializing in tasty seafood. Once nourished, you'll see the Whale Temple. Folks erected this structure to worship a whale which washed ashore over 100 years ago.
Your next panoramic view of beautiful Vung Tau comes via the landmark Lighthouse. Because it stands nearly 600 feet above sea level, there's an option to have a motorcycle ride you to the top.
Upon taking in this majestic seaside view, your guide will ensure your safe return to port. This scenic tour fulfills your seaside and sightseeing desires.
Please Note: Western-style food is available upon request at the time of booking for an additional fee to be paid on the day of your tour (not included, approximately $10 US). Guide was waiting for us right off the ship when we got off. Thought we were going on a group tour and turned out it was just the two of us. Guide was very knowledgeable about the area. Allowed us all the time that we wanted to spend at each stop. Lunch was very good and in a nice hotel restaurant. Everything was brought to the table. Seemed more of an authentic Vietnamese meal than the buffet we've had on previous tours.

This is excellent! We are very pleased to have accomplished getting to the shoulder of the Towering Christ the Redeemer in Vung Tau with the help and encouragement from our tour guide, James who had encouraged and have helped us even taken our pics along the way...among the many other places we have been. Lunch included was all good and healthy. Our tour guide spoke good English which is great, but I hope he can send us those pics he had taken of us in his cp that he says he'll send to our e-mail address. Also, we appreciate the nice souvenir fan he gave us and the way he made sure we returned safely to the ship, James and this private trip is one I highly recommend!!!.

This is probably the best shore excursion I have ever done. This us mainly due to your courier (Hung) He could not have been more polite, informative and knowledgeable. He made sure we had everything at lunchtime before he could be persuaded to go and eat his own meal. He took us to places we would never have been on a ship arranged excursion and overall a most amazing young man. You should look after him, he us a great asset to your company. Thank you so much for our trip.
