Exceeded Expectations

Our family of 4 adults and 2 kids (7 and 10) rated this the VERY BEST tour we've had in Hawaii. Jason was an amazing guide and filled the day with fascinating information and all kinds of details. We all learned so much!! This tour is especially nice because it avoids the crowds and touristy spots and instead visits small, private farms. The private waterfall was much bigger than we had imagined it would be and 4 of us did get in and swim around the waterfall despite the relatively cool day. We are still talking about this fantastic tour and recommend it to anyone who will be traveling to Hilo, especially if you want something "off the beaten path." Keep in mind we toured off our cruise ship, so there were tons of people in Hilo at the same time as we were there. Never would have guessed there was a cruise ship in town from our experience on the tour.

misleading descriptions

The descriptions were to see about 4-5 waterfalls plus visit local fruit farm and get to taste the fruit for free. We ended up only seeing 2 waterfalls which were nice and you get to swim in the last one. We only visited the coffee farm and cacao farm and got to tried some chocolate. The tour guy was very nice and knowledgable. Overall it was a nice trip but wish they updated the description so I wouldn't be disappointed. I was looking forward to trying the tropical fruits but that was false hope.

We had a fabulous guide for Hilo. We went to Rainbow Falls at Wailuku State Park, Hawaiian Tropical Gardens,chocolate plantation, planted cacao, and explored the flora as we hiked, climbed, walked and talked and learned from our wonderful guide-one of her first times on this particular excursion. The best part was our downward climb. We hiked down the steep, wet, windy path on the Kulancapia Trail to the pool beneath the waterfall - option to swim. After a steeper but shorter climb back we had lunch and enjoyed the fabulous scenery. There were only four of us so it was as if we had a private tour and we did! Great and memorable experience!

Hilo tropical waterfalls

Highly recommended. The far guide we had was awesome and the falls simply beautiful. And to top it off we got to swim in one would certainly do this one again.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. It was beautiful, tranquil and informational. We got to paddle board, kayak and swim in the waterfall pool and we loved every minute.
