This unique tour starts with a short but scenic ride to the largest Tlingit settlement in Alaska. Hoonah is many things in a small package: a lively fishing village, an old logging town and a beautiful place to visit.
Your guide will take you throughout the small village and point out the many things that make this settlement so special. The last stop on the tour will bring you to Icy Strait Brewing, one of SE Alaska's hidden treasures! Icy Strait Brewing is a craft brewery. Using crystal clear water from the mountain streams of Chichagof Island, Icy Strait Brewing crafts several styles of beer on site.
Guests will get a wooden nickel good for a beer of their choosing, learn about the brewery operation and the historic significance of the building that houses it.

Our guide Angie was terrific! She made our excursion very enjoyable. Note to Angie - the boots are Dromedaris.

Angie was a terrific tour guide. She took us to every nook and cranny of Hoonah in her comfy van. It was great to have someone articulate the story of the area so pleasantly. The craft brewery visit was equally as delightful. This tour was just what we wanted. Thank you!

great tour - our ride was a lovely van and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about her city.....by happenstance, the carving shed was open, so we were able to speak to the carvers and received an almost second tour from them....

Our tour guide Jaime was an absolute delight! She took us around the beautiful town and surrounding area and explained the history and interesting points of the area. She even stopped and picked some wild berries for us to taste. The folks at the Hoonah brewery were friendly and the beers were delicious! They took interest in myself and another person on the tour when they found out we were both home brewers. This was a nice pleasant tour which I would suggest. It would be another plus for you to be lucky enough to get Jaime as well. She has some interesting stories to tell about the Brown's in the Alaskan Bush People show. Just ask her.
Great trip with only 5 participants. Special stop at Huna Tribal House Project where local natives are carving two totem poles for the new Tribal center built in partnership with National, Forest Service. Craft beer stop definitely the way to end trip.
