This was definitely my family’s favorite excursion. Our guide, Cardinal, was wonderful and gave us information that spanned from history to culinary and beyond in such an engaging way, even my young daughters learned a ton. The site visit was astonishing and more than met our expectations. Such happy memories!!!
Leon, our tour guide, did a great job of showing us around the town and pointing out the different houses of dignitaries. He explained the background and history of the country and was a constant source of information. My friend really enjoyed him as a guide. As to our time in Altun Ha, I wish we had more time to climb each of the different pyramids. After we climbed the tallest pyramid it seemed like he was in a hurry to get us out of there. There were some shops and a tiny museum outside of the ruins as well as a small restaurant where we were encouraged to eat at. I ended up getting 2 lobster tails for $10. Not a bad deal. The drive to the site is a bit long so be prepared with something to read or do.

This excursion was excellent. What made it so great was our tour guide Percy. Percy's knowledge and expertise of Belize and Altun Ha was exceptional, his passion for providing information and guidance to the customers was filled with excitement of his county. Another thing was it was a short bus ride, unlike some others that were 2 hours. I would highly recomment this tour.
Booked this tour with shore excursions because the price was great. Our tour guide Percy was excellent! He was well spoken, knowledgeable and shared his love for his country during the drive to the ruins. The ruins has a small museum and Percy gave his perspective of the temples. We were able to climb to the top of one of the temples which was delightful. After the tour we were able to shop for souvenirs and explore a bit on our own. Percy answered all questions honestly and openly and upon request direct my friend and I to a local vendor who prepared Belizean foods. That was a wonderful treat as well! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour... but I love history so I’m a bit biased... lol! Thanks again for everything... the smaller group made it easy.
Very interesting and beautiful site. Our guide was quite informative and polite. I also appreciated that it was not too far from the cruise ship and there was not too many people. But bring mosquito repellent and suncare products, very hot and muggy.
